ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Before we all get too excited, remember the probability is that the daughter is now faking the pregnancy to a)cover for her mom’s previous fake pregnancy and b)minimize the chances that voters would shy away from the prospect of a pregnant VP. [/sarcasm off]
Yeah, she should have aborted it, and then no one would have found out.
Please cram your classless opinion in whatever orifice your species traditionally crams things.
His Son is hiding.

If only - LOL. Parents can only do so much. At 17 they usually make their own decisions, right or wrong. At least her daughter felt she could count on her family’s support in this situation. They didn’t tell her to get an abortion.
It’s the Obama smear. His people were the ones pushing it on both DK and DU within minutes of the announcement. It is his campaign doing it - not fringe supporters.
That’ll be the least of it. The Dr. Laura wing of the GOP will be howling about how if she’d just been a good stay-at-home mom this wouldn’t have happened. Her priorities will be questioned for allowing her teenage daughter to be thrust so cruelly into the media spotlight at such an unfortunate time. The libs will have a field day using this as proof of the wisdom of planned parenthood, sex education and condoms for all. Not to mention, that with just over 60 days left in the election cycle, and the pre-empted Republican Convention, this is going to become THE media story for the next 2 months.
It doesn’t matter how rational people view this. The MSM is going to shape this story to their purposes, and this is going to get very ugly.
Anyone making an issue out of a VP candidates pregnant daughter is an idiot. Plain and simple.
“Evangelicals kids dont get pregnant? You never met the preachers daughter have you?”
EXCUSE ME!!! I’m a Baptist preacher’s daughter, and Dad would’ve killed me if I’d become pregnant before marriage. The sure and certain knowledge of that fact kept me a virgin until my wedding night.
I wholly support Sarah Palin and am thankful she is on the ticket!
How is this seriously screwed up? 17-year-olds often have sex, much as we wish they wouldn't. They did in 1900, they did in 1950, 1990, and they do today. If they get pregnant, some kill the baby and then appear, to you, to be great people. If they do the right thing and keep the baby and marry (or give it up for adoption), then you call them seriously screwed up.
G-d made us all most fertile at a young age, but no longer is our life expectancy so short that we need to start having babies at 15 or 16. But once that was perfectly normal for humans.
Bottom line. You do your best to raise your child and impart your values, character and wisdom. In the end they will make their own decisions and mistakes. It doesn’t reflect poorly on you. Her daughter is 17 and it isn’t the Palin’s responsibility to hold her hand and be with her 24/7.
The true character that her daughter is now demonstrating by not taking the easy out (abortion) and taking responsibility for her actions by bringing the baby into the world is what really counts here. Every family has their challenges and this is a big one. Prayers up for Mom and Dad as they support their daughter in bringing this baby into the world.
Not just a little sick in the thinking. I’m of the VERY FIRM opinion that McCain is a backstabbing RINO. I have 25 years of evidence to back it up. A decision for VP, even if a reasonably decent one, does not change that.
Five months pregnant? No sweat, by BHO standards, she has three or four months to decide whether she wants to spike it or keep it./s
I hate the media. This country would be a different place if the MSM had a shred of honesty.
I think you’re wrong about this.
I believe that this will be far less a negative for McCain/Palin than you suggest here.
That said, my initial take on it was pretty much the same as you - - - time will tell.
LOL.
The spirit of your post is so correct...but unfortunately, it appears that many here who claim to be forgiven of their sins seem feel they are without sin.
Good catch.
Stick your head up above your computer screen once and a while. 99% of normal Americans will not experience the ‘flooding’ you are so concerned about. They actually WORK while at their jobs instead of gold-bricking on here and daily kos.
