I think you’re wrong about this.

I believe that this will be far less a negative for McCain/Palin than you suggest here.

That said, my initial take on it was pretty much the same as you - - - time will tell.

So what does this mean to Palin? It will also make her a grandmother. Who doesn't like grandma.

Almost no person with a teenage female in their family around this age hasn't worried about this happening. To me it only humanizes her more.

I don't think this issue is the world beater the dems think it is.

Never said it would effect my vote in the end.

But people have to be honest.

McCain showed poor judgment.

And Palin’s decision to go forward accepting the VP slot, is puzzling.

I agree, this will fade. Maybe surface again when the child is born but it will not be a negative because: The Palin's daughter kept her baby and did not abort it, like so many liberals believe is okay...like Obama would have his daughters do. The fact that this has been brought out early, and not kept hidden is a plus for the GOP ticket. This was not a National Enquirer scoop like the Dems have done to them because they lie to and fraud the public on such issues. Although it isn't the greatest of situations, I am sure the family is dealing well with this, facing the issue front on, and the family has a right to their decisions and privacy. Let's see if the Dems believe it to be "a personal matter," as they continually said (and say) about Bill's behavior, or if they excuse it as a "mistake," like they did with Jesse Jackon's philandering. Will the Dems allow that the same rule should apply to the Palin's daughter? You can bet they won't.

I heard that McCain knew this before he picked Sarah Palin, and I give them both credit for coming forth with this news early on. Again, it is not the best...but this happens in the best of families and keeping the child is more admirable than aborting a life, no matter how inconvenient Liberals might think that could be. Remember, last year...one of the top movies that Liberals loved was the one about the teen-age girl from a stable, loving family who announced that she was pregnant. Liberals and media critics touted the film as "wonderfully inspiring." I can't remember the name, but it was a big hit.
