She might be politically conservative, but not with how she runs her own life.

Un-freaking-believable statement. If you family is not sinless you're not a conservative?

You people have gone over the edge.

Is a man incapable of taking care of children?

I'm not intentionally dismissing him - but he is not a full-time stay at home dad, like many here have posted. There are inconsistencies. I would love to get the truth. If he is a full-time dad, then I'd have no problem. But there's also stories that he still works for BP AND works at salmon fishing in season. That's not even a half-time stay at home parent, with those jobs.

“I would respect criticism of McCain over free speech or borders. “

Just a couple of minor issues!!

Or how about demonizing “excess” profits. Attacking the Swift Boat Vets for Truth. The gang of ten. Letting housing speculators off the hook. Drilling in ANWR and the Everglades (somebody needs to tell the dope we have been doing it for 60 years and it does NO HARM). McCain-Lieberman!!
Cap ‘n Trade.

It’s not being sinless, it’s the acceptance of sin and how the outcome is handled. Handling it by exposing your daughter to national media scrutiny is heartless, IMO. It’s using the girl. All this should be done as privately as possible, not in the national spotlight. Putting one’s career before one’s family is not conservative, IMO.

That was just sick! I’m soooo tired of these vultures. ANYTHING, ANYTHING to keep a Republican out of office. These vultures have blood on their hands literally!

What if her dog died? Would that be suffient emotional trama to cause a 17yr old to have unprotected sex?

What about the trama when Mommy stays home an Daddy is at work, not being by his daughter’s side 24/7?

“but he is not a full-time stay at home dad, like many here have posted.”

I’m not conversant with every single post here, but I don’t recall anyone claiming that.

In order to Bork Mrs. Palin, first one must undermine Mr. Palin.

If, God for forbid, something happened to McCain and Mrs. Palin gets sworn in, do you honestly think that Mr. Palin would insist on his own petty whims if his wife, the President, asked him to do something? I believe Mr. Palin would serve his country, even if the tasks are humble. I bet he’d walk over broken glass for her.

My husband has a similar theory. He was all for Romney (since hubby is more moderate than I and an MBA and tall to boot, he feels a certain kinship, perhaps) but then said that Romney would seem to “perfect”. Heaven forbid we have a candidate with a family that isn’t messed up to some degree . . .

Or a candidate we would actually respect for way they handled their personal life! I may not have agreed with Romney politically on everything, but I do respect his character and values. And as politicians go, that says a lot!

McCain’s age really isn’t an issue to me. Maybe 72 just doesn’t seem that old to me. Statistically, Obama is more at risk of a heart attack than McCain. He’s in that dangerous range, 45-65 with a high-stress job. Cheney was far weaker medically than McCain and he’s made it through 8 years.

Regardless, I’m not concerned about the lack of experience. In part, because the nominee is not going to change, but in part because she has more than Obama. Alaska governor is more experience than community activist and senator. And Biden, for all his “experience” (and I really don’t consider being a senator all that great a resume builder) is a loon. I would take an inexperienced veep with the common sense to chose good advisors over Biden any day.

Nice family man, however, I do give him that. Politically a mess, though.

That’s why you’re trying to Bork Palin, isn’t it?”

I’m not TRYING anything. I just pointing out McCain’s true identity. How about support for embrio stem cell research when it is proven to take life AND not work worth a hoot and is should be done according to McCain with Tax payer dollars - McCain, at a minimum, needs a lesson in private capital.

She wasn't around for the last 2 years (when governor).

Obviously I don't know what her personal schedule was, but just because you're a governor does not mean you can't also raise a family.

I don't think her daughter getting pregnant was an unrelated incident. Children raised one way and acting another usually do so for a reason.

I don't think we know the "reason" she became pregant (other than the obvious biological causes). Sometimes kids mess up. They make choices without realizing the consequences fully, no matter how well they are raised. She is choosing to live with these consequences. She is taking responsibility for her choice. It appears her boyfriend will do the same.

Good. Let it all out. “McCain sux,” I get it.

Now, please understand my point of view. Palin’s pregnant daughter is NOT a political football.

But it will be in the national spotlight. Teenage parents aren’t likely to stay together, and even less so with the added stress of their every move being mobbed by reporters.

“But he does leave my sight. Smart kids really do screw up sometimes. (Pun intended!)”

Of course, but if the screw up is literally a screw, do we run for VP? Don’t we know the kid is going to be on the cover of the tabloids? Can you see the headlines? I’m not saying that is right but it will happen?

Then my big issue is McCain!! The man is a gambler with bad judgement. He is gambling with the Country. He could get us Obama!

I’m not already in politics—strawman.

We are going to get Obama or McCain. Obama is much closer to the Marxist label than McCain, and he will be supported by a fawning Democratic congress. McCain will be fought tooth and nail. Therefore, Obama stands to create far greater turmoil for the US economy and the world at large than McCain.

I can respect that you don’t like McCain, but the reality is that it is him or Obama. Are you of the mindset that it’s better to let Obama mess up then a Reagan will ride in to clean up in 4 years?
