I believe that, too, but I also believe that when human beings make mistakes, the Christian response is to respond with charity-not judgement.

>>>>>>I guess this depends on how you define 'family values'. If you're going to define such values as a situation where a 17yr old never has pre-marital sex, point taken. However, I contend that such a situation is not what defines the term. In this case, it starts with that fact and then gets worse.
>>>>>So, cheer up, will ya?
I'm still voting for McCain. Just bringing some dispassionate truth to this political storyline. Its not gonna help get McCain elected. He will lose votes over this. From a political perspective, this isn't good.
Anyway, thanks for offering your opinion without the obligatory emotional outburst that most folks seem to be engaging in today.

Soon the only people who will consider a career in politics will
be lowlifes like the Clintons who do what they like and don't give
a d*** what people think.
You got that right!
People like The Clintons that have ONE child to let the world know
that they are "just like all the other regular folks".
And a fig-leaf in case folks that are center and right-of-center
wondered if either of them are gay/bisexual!!!
Or just having sex solely for the fun of it!

That’s because Reagan Man, and a few others if you look at their posting history had an issue with Palin being the VP candidate in the first place. Some were saying she shouldn’t accept because her baby has Down Syndrome.
So..of course now with this news they want to push her into stepping down.
I think it’s the whole woman being veep thing that has them bothered.
Seriously.

Why do you keep pushing the culture of death agenda? This is the second post of yours where you encourage giving abortificients to minors. Just asking...Every sperm is sacred?
Condoms and the pill aren't abortificients [sic, abortifacients]. Also, Bristol is older than 16.0 years old, so she's not a minor in Alaska.

Your rants are sexist disguised as “concern for the party”.
Knock it off.

:) 1069 posts as I type. The overwhelming consensus on the thread......this is nothing but a "good thing", family values, a true American family.
Once again, hussein obama gets wiped off the front page. Let the commies squirm some more.....it's all about Palin, and Americans like what they see.

Fine. You assume perfection runs in my family?
Well, I assume hyprocrites run in yours.
How can we as conservatives blast the sexual antics of democrats and yet excuse a republican for the same thing?

Why not judge?
If I didn’t judge, during my 20s I would have dated every scumbag who wanted to take me out and get me in the back seat.
Judgement - AKA discernment - is an important skill the left has tried to keep us from exercising.
(And yes, in this instance I am qualified to judge. I successfully managed to avoid pregnancy for the whole of my slutty years. Not getting pregnant is easy.)

LOL... (... you ever been to alaska”)
I have been, unlike that poster!
Not only does that comment ring hysterically silly, quite frankly, my cousins there are likely to have a reaction to this story as, “so what?” Libertarians in the lower 48 don’t know what libertarian is.

That doesn't make any sense. Sara would then be a hypocrite. No, just a responsible parent.

Yeah, he knew...and not only that but if you stop to think about it, when Christians screw up and make mistakews, they often don’t compound them further. Some do but most don’t.
The fact that she’ll be keeping the child speaks volumes about the differences between this family and the ObamaNation family where he sees children as “punishment”.

When Sarah Palin talks about being pro-life, those words are not coming from a man who will never know what it is like to experience pregnancy. They aren't not coming from a proper and prim 75 year old nun who never did anything unseemly.
They are coming from a real mom who names her kids Bristol, Trig and Piper. That is why she represents the greatest threat to liberalism.

No reason for him to go elsewhere. He is bringing up good points, and real concerns. I applaud him for doing so, though I disagree with him in almost every detail on this.

I agree. There is zero “common sense” involved with it.
In fact, anyone who does a little research on it ought to run from it-fast.
To: Sister_T
Good. I’m glad to see Obama isn’t getting a pass on libeling and slandering a minor female child.
I hope Bristol takes the time to sue all those involved. That should make for a nice little start-up fund for the new family.
To: Thane_Banquo; RockinRight
Tell me again how two teenagers with less than a high school education are going to support a baby without our tax dollars?
Ever watch "The Deadliest Catch" or "Ice Road Truckers" There are plenty of good jobs in Alaska for those willing to learn and break a sweat. I'm sure her father has plenty of contacts in the oil fields to get his soon-to-be son-in-law a starter job.
Don't be a pessimist. That's the Democrats way.
