Wow. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is John McCain's pick for Vice-President. Folks, this is s close to a game changer as you can get.
Let me give you some instant reaction. I can tell you that The Brody File has been talking to multiple sources in the conservative Evangelical community and the reaction has been EXTREMELY POSITIVE. As a matter of fact, I am told that when conservative leaders heard the news this morning at a meeting at the Council for National Policy, one attendee told me that there is "nothing but elation. People are giddy. They are energized and they now believe that in fact this campaign has the ability to win this election."

I like Palin too but would like to know if she will give McCain a good butt kickin' on illegal immigration?
I understand she sent some of the Alaska NG down to the border, but other than that I don't have much clue on her stance on illegal immigration. Anyone care enlighten me?
Ws there a reason he did not choose Gov Huckabee?
He had values and experience that any conservative wanted?
When one takes an office of governing others, they figure out how they are going to take on the mantel of power. There are a series of questions a person asks themselves when they are making decisions that will effect many others. One of the first issues is “do I vote for what I think the majority of my constituents want?” Or “do I do my due dilligence on the issue and use my best judgement?” There are also the ethical and moral questions of character that create bright lines in some and fuzzies in other. Then there is the confidence that comes from knowledge of the issues and the development of a network of relationships with people who know and people who “do.” There is also the knowledge one gains in working with group dynamics and bringing folks to a common vision. Courage is being able to see yourself in that position of power and having the willingness and comfort level with yourself to take the responsibility of power. Confidence comes with time.
Palin, in her 12 year experience in various levels of government seems to have successfully worn the mantel, maintained her integrity, is grounded and has achieved high approval ratings from her constituents on job perfomance. She also has a good exposure to the challenging issues facing families, communities and states. I would say that this type of experience has tested her mettle and that she is ready to take on the responsibility of higher office.
Compared to Obama, I would say she has greater experience with responsibility and domestic issues.
Well ponder this:
Palin is a life-long NRA member.
Barr is *still* in the ACLU.
I know who’s sold out their profreedom credentials and who hasnt ... and it aint Sarah Palin!
“They really got their hair on fire over at the DU. I just had to take a look”
Choice quotes of lefties attacking a fine upstanding woman Governor would be in order.
What can I say but....PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So... If its a man with a family its different? Its ok for a guy with young or diabled children to run for office but not a woman? I am just trying to figure out where you are coming from. Cause I think you are wrong.
Oh yeah - I didn't notice at first.
I cried also...first time in probably 35 years. Think I was about 12 at the time:)
WHAT????
“FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS IM PROUD TO BE A REPUBLICAN - someone on Rush Show just said”
Great line.
You are quick to adopt the liberal talking points. CNN only said the same line at least twice before you parroted the lame argument.
What I saw is a woman who has two very capable daughters to assist Mom with the younger children. It's utter hypocrisy that liberals opine only fellow liberal women can work and raise a family.
And finally--you should omit the apostrophe in MOTHERS. Use of the word in this case was not a possessive.
I agree with you, Sunny. The Dems are thrilled, the media is pouncing. Hillary can have Travelgate, Obama can get cozy with domestic terrorists, but Palin can’t fire her ex brother-in-law (or whatever) without a colossal investigation.
However, we must make the best of it. Can’t let Obama win.
Pray she is a quick study.
Being that I am in the field Men and Women both have important roles to play in raising children, so they will be Men and Women that have great things to offer society and there families.
Children especially young ones need there mother more than there father that is a fact, and has been proven...At some point children need there Dad’s especially boys when they become 10 and up..Men have the ability to raise great men are there exceptions to the rule of course......
I don’t personally believe in Stay at home dad’s..Men should work and were made to work outside the home I know in today’s society that might not be politically correct or trendy but I believe in Traditional Marriage and I sure hope this November here in Cali we can once again overturn Homosexual Marraige and protect the family...
I was a ho-hum McCain supporter, BUT....NOW I am energized!
Huckabee, now I know you’re kidding. A faker conservative there has never been. I advise you look at what Obama and his ilk want to do to this country and refrain from all the senseless whining. Let’s get behind McCain and stop bellyaching like your favorite movie did’nt win the Oscar. Palin was a solid pick, that’s a fact not even debatable.
Check out her background and lifestyle, I’ll pick her any day to run our country...she can do it better than 98% of those morons in Washington.
“That was the greatest Hilliary Clinton thread Ive ever read! I hope that it speaks for ALL her supporters!!!!”
Without even reading it I can tell you that her lesbian feminist supporters are angry at McCain and I highly doubt will vote for him.
