“Michael Goodwin speculates that the media’s “fawning coverage” of Obama, which the McCain campaign has highlighted with “The One,” its nickname for the Democrat, may have caused voter resentment.”

I totally agree with this comment.

The MSM coddled Obama like a 2 year old baby and now the American public is rejecting that coddled 2 year old baby. The Presidency of the United States of America is no place for a coddled 2 year old baby.

Obama is going to be like one of those boy bands ((New Kids, Minudo). The media goes wild, huge crowds, then all of a sudden people wake up and are embarrassed to admit they ever listened.

Crap. I wish they’d hold their fire until after the convention (and nomination). ZerObama will be the easier candidate to beat.

Obama’s going to come unglued. He's cannot take any criticism, and there will be a lot more stories like this as he starts to slip. He's gotten used to the MSM fawning over him, his empty rhetoric, and his empty record. Now, they are going have to explain why ordinary Americans are not bamboozled by this inexperienced and unaccomplished pol.

Guess Obama needs to improve his Strategy:

Related FR Thread ( I did post the article ):

Obama's skewer-the-messenger strategy ( Saul Alinsky taught tactics for Community Activists )

*********************EXCERPT INTRO**********************

Socialist and community activist Saul Alinksy taught organizers to ridicule opponents when the arguments of their opponents could not be refuted by logic, evidence or argument. He advocated denying the truth or just plain lying. In Alinksy's world, the end always justified the means.

Alinsky's acolytes on the left have learned the lesson well. Because they dare not address the questions raised, they attack the one asking the questions.

Supporters of Barack Obama are in paroxysms over Jerome R. Corsi's best-seller "The Obama Nation," attacking the 304-page book and its author on minor details contained within its pages, while deliberately ignoring and obfuscating the larger points Corsi makes about Obama's questionable alliances, practices and qualifications for president.

You know they still don’t get the fact that they are yet again running a horrible candidate. If one thing is a certainty they (the left) seem to have a suicidal tendency to nominate some of the worst candidates based upon emotional fluff when reasoned analysis and even worse political analysis. The Democrats need first to accept the fact this is a Center Right nation. People don’t want to see gay pride parades at their county fair, they don’t want to see their daughters having abortions or their sons having babies(I know the it was trans gendered), they know that big taxes on the rich also hit them in the pocketbook, they don’t want to see our soldiers dead but neither do they want to see then brought home to defeat, they don’t want to see their kids being force to learn Spanish while illegals are granted amnesty and still don’t learn English.

Once they accept that they only have the advantage when people aren’t fully paying attention, when people are only hearing their slogans not the details they might start choosing candidates that are close enough to the mainstream to win in the general election. They won’t and that is good for us. Let them keep nominating the anti-war traitors and the neo-reverse racism types like Obama who want to take us even deeper into the old tired socialism that even now the chains of which Europe is starting to throw off.

I can see a post-election whine that the Americans don’t deserve somebody as great as me.

The American people do not like "IN YOUR FACE" on anything or anyone.

Obama has been pushed "IN OUR FACE" and down our throats since George Bush was inaugurated the second time.

More than anything (we all know all the negatives about Barry) it was total OVERKILL and people are OVER HIM ALREADY!

...while a Zogby poll released this morning shows McCain — yes, McCain — with a five-point lead.

...ephemeral swings in the polls tend to send political observers into a frenzy.

Only the cheer leading, talking point repeating, DNC lapdog, Obamination campaigning disguised as reporting political observers, have entered the FRENZY zone.

The rest of the country is just grinning.

Barack's star is falling like a meteorite.

Will he be toast before the Dem convention?

Hillary must be rubbing her hands with glee.

It is far simpler than that. “Above my pay grade” was Obama’s Dukakis Momment.

I'm taking this one with a grain of salt. Imagine a hypothetical pollster. Normally, this hypothetical pollster slants hai polls to favor the dem. So in this situation, he would normally release a Registered Voters poll (which favors the dem) and then move the numbers a couple of points toward the dem with sample selection.

Imagine that this same hypothetical pollster wanted HRC as the nominee. He might just release a likely voters poll on the eve of the convention with a couple of points of secret sauce added to McCain.

I can't imagine this would happen in the real world. But it might.

A DU opinion:

ProSense (1000+ posts) Wed Aug-20-08 11:17 AM Original message I'm so disappointed in Obama Advertisements [?]Why did he have to beat Hillary?

Why is he allowing McCain to catch up?

I don't care about his lead or his $51 million record fundraising.

His inexperience is showing, he should have lost to Hillary and should be losing to McCain.
