Meanwhile, The Holy Messiah Obama is hiding in hawaii from the TV Cameras, so he won’t have to look like an ass answering questions about why he said “the Walls have come DOWN!” when reffering to the Cold War....

Nothing there right now except condemnation. No action by us except joining a delegation to Moscow. (Did you notice that the President made a slip of the tongue when he said that the goal of the Russians could be regime change in RUSSIA!)

"indicating he has fresh intelligence that things are moving much more quickly."
Obviously referring to intelligence reports here at Free Republic

In a nutshell (my summary, not verbatim), he said that Russia is violating Georgia's sovereignty and her treaties and that they are on notice that if they don't pull out it will threaten relations between Russia and the US and Europe. He sounded very pissed.
To: CedarDave
I would have to hear that again!

CNN agrees, saying the President is talking very tough and that Bush was taking a direct shot at Putin.

Analyst on FOX says the Presidents words are stunning, indicating he has fresh intelligence that things are moving much more quickly. Hopefully he heard all of it. The rest of us didn't . . . thanks FOX.

What was the USSR after in Afganistan??? Dirt, Mountains??

CNN speculates that Bush’s tough talk is because the Bush Admin has information that more is going on in the region (ie, Russia is escalating).

If better say that the US is already there, or on the way with more support. If he says anything less, this country will have lost profound respect, and Bush will have turned his back on our allie.
Going to be a lot of ticked off people if he welches on an allie.

They are only stunning if they generate immediate action. Without immediate action, Georgia will fall.
The only ones I see taking immediate actions in a gambit to forestall this are the President's of Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine who are personally on their way to Tiblisis to stand with the Georgians.
God bless 'em for their courage and their attempt...may His Hand bring about a truly stunning reversal in this horrid agression by Putin and his cronies.
