I am glad the Russians are not as good at propoganda as they once were. But most of our media is sure pro-communist and ignores truth so perhaps they feel they don’t have to be good at it.

He gets paid to be here, like the rest of them. He’s got to get in his hours. The level of propaganda on FR these days boggles the mind at times.

Well, the SU-24 Fencer is an attack aircraft, not a fighter.

That's my point. The Frogfoot is, too. So was it translated properly and this is political sidestepping, or is it just a flat-out lie? Obviously, it's not like I'd expect anything but a lie from Putin, but who knows...

Lets play chess on line sometime. I get bored of statistics and I am too old now to fly jets.

“The next 24 hours will determine Georgia’s fate.”

The one who attacks almost always wins in the short run. They wouldn’t attack if they hadn’t planned it out. Defenses are almost always static in some way.

“How can anyone trust Putnin a former KGB guy?”

I trust him to be dangerous.

Here is my wager, they come in, do some tremendous damage and back off for a few years. To me this is the Russians sending a message to other former Soviet sattelites and surrounding nations of Russia. It’s about the money and Russia wants the new international monetary peg. The power of the West has shifted East quite a bit and it will a bit more but it will shift back here again before the big one. They cause WWIII in there stupidity for the peg at some point but that time is not now.

Remember, after the darkest night comes a new dawn. Our European allies if they can be called that will be calling us soon. And if and when the Russians finally do cause WWIII, it is the end of there civilization, not ours. Although it would not be pretty, rest easy some. You have an entire nation of Patriots nehind you (minus a few dozen Dem/commies controlling the House).

“we would be wrong again not to come to Georgia’s aid”

Looking back in history, it was incredibly difficult for MacArthur to aid South Korea in the early stages. I would guess that it was easier for him to transport troops there from Japan than it is for us to transport troops to Georgia. By the time we get there, Russia will likely have overrun them. We could try to liberate Georgia, but that would be hell— especially against a nation like Russia. We could weaken Russia with bombing runs. But we'll need ground forces to win.

Considering that we are already fighting a war on terror with our intelligence agencies stretched to the limit, I would say the temptation to shluff this will be great.

Then there's another problem— would the people support a war? If not, it will be difficult to get funding. Photographs of dead/injured civilians would need to flood the news.

Your blind hatred against Russia (for who know what stupid reason) blinds you as well to the criminal enterprise that Georgia has become under the tyrannical mobsters who govern there at this point in time.

How did I just know you would show up here?

As a Christian conservative it is my duty to do so.

When needed and absolutely necessay I will do my utmost to defend truth, and fight against left wing media managed propaganda which you seem to have swallowed hook line and sinker.

“South Ossetia is part of Georgia only because the Georgian communist Stalin said it was. There is no shared language or culture. IN the past Ossetian Christians have always looked to Russia for protection from muslim hordes.”

How muslim is the rest of Georgia?

Me neither, I am in analytics but I do know this: you must pick a long-term strategy first with another major nuclear power. The Russians see us like the Nazis saw us in 1930.

The USA is bankrupt as a nation. If you don’t know this by now you need to do some homework. Ignorance will get you killed and not too far off either. That is not an insult, I don’t want to see one American die for lack of information. Bankrupt nations have no options but to begin a defensive posture for a time. There are low budget ways that are highly effective at bankrupting superpowers. We used such methods on the Soviets in 1989 and they used it on us in 2001. When you study and get to the end game of such affairs you realized we should have used a low kiloton nuke on in Afghanistan and found Bin Laden later. Too late for that now and now we are bankrupt. But we’ll recover and help our allies.

Don’t need a MOAB for that and the world wouldn’t really see the effect either. But we do seem to think alike.

The return to Christian symbols and somewhat of an influence has apparently troubled some...but they aren’t making noises yet.
