I’m sorry, but Bush convening Congress to pass legislation that 80% of the people support is not a bad political move. He’s held himself back from criticism from the MSM the last 3 years, and his approval ratings are around 30%. When he stood on principle and took on the MSM the first 2 years of his administration, his approval ratings were around 80%. The people see through the spin. This stand in favor of drilling will have no effect in November if Bush and McCain get on late and it looks like a political “me too” maneuver. Bush needs to find his spine and call a special session and McCain needs to join those on Capitol Hill.

I hope the American voters respond to Nancy and her antics by not only electing John McCain but also a Republican Congress. Nancy might finally be proved to be what she is no substance, just someone with a good plastic surgeon who went to charm school. It’s really sad when that’s all it takes to sway a vote. But of course look at the source, look and see who her constituents are. Of course there is more to Nancy then her plastic surgeon and her charm school training, the woman is a freaking socialist!

You are right that the House can set its own rules, and it is under these rules that C-span operates. The constitution itemizes few powers, and this is one of them. As conservatives, we must respect that. At the same time, nograyzone is absolutely right that “the party in power should not control what is seen and heard.”

Yes, this should be heard in the court of public opinion. But that does not preclude the House itself changing the rules, and I think it’s something the republicans should push for. Of course, the dems won’t go along. But that can be part of the evidence in the court of public opinion. More fuel for the fire.

The US Senate stayed in session to avoid the President making recess appointments. Bush cannot call them back since technically they are still in session.

But I know, the BDS crowd of pseudo Conservatives does not want to hear any facts. They would then actually have to hold the Democrats accountable for something rather then waste our time, as usual, desperately trying to shift the focus off the Do Nothing Democrat Leadership.
