Romney has right RX for McCain
Seattle Times ^ | August 3rd | Froma Harrop

We who obsess over universal health coverage may soon confront a startling development: The only candidate on a major-party presidential ticket to have proposed and implemented a universal plan could well be a Republican. I speak of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, now high on the list of John McCain's possible running mates.

I wish I had that much love as their family does. Truly wonderful.

Romney's family is not only a fabulous campaign prop, they are by themselves a campaign team which could criss cross the country supporting hundreds of Republican candidates.

Romney would be a BIG PLUS for the party because they exemplify what it means to have truly nuclear, loving family values.

Amazing and wonderful. Just too cool! :-) Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures and stories.

Thanks for letting me share. I love having somewhere to go....kinda like the Cheers theme song...where you can get together with friends. There are some malcontents but most of the folks on these threads are super nice. I think just the level of participation on the Romney threads show how excited he gets the base. Look at the other threads; 14 replies, 32 replies, etc. The Romney threads almost always break into the triple digits.

What a great idea! Kudus to you. That’s right, be pro-active.

I have been doing it all along with the email solicitations I receive from the McCain Campaign, but I think having to open an envelope, for which they pay the postage, expecting some money and seeing my note might make some volunteers start talking.

I get a lot of these things because of my long history of supporting the GOP. In the early 1990s I used to work in a very powerful GOP consultant's office and one of my jobs was to create a data base according to how much money people typically donated. People were grouped by support level. Campaigns definitely pay attention to these things.

BTW, when people have accused me of not being a "real" conservative because I support Mitt Romney, they are so far off the mark that I feel embarrassed for them.

The Seattle Times likes him and you think this is an endorsement?

No other VP candidate I can think of has that effect on me and the many Republicans I hang around with.

Same here Edit. My friends get so pumped at the prospect of hitting the bricks for Romney. He will energize the GOP. Just look at this thread, approaching 400 replies. What other topic generates that sort of excitement?

"In the year since Romney helped launch the Massachusetts health plan, the following has happened: The number of uninsured has fallen by 340,000 people, half the total; out-of-pocket costs have dropped significantly; and the benefits are better. With 93 percent of Massachusetts residents now insured, the plan approaches universal nirvana."

Yeah--conveniently ignoring the fact that the plan is about to go belly-up and need an infusion of federal cash. But for a liberal, I guess that qualifies as "nirvana."

A failure is not a excuse to quit. It is an opportunity to try again, and again, until we get it right.

That's an unreconstructed marxist debate point when it comes to intrusive big government. If Romney-drones have to stoop to that level to convince conservatives, you might want to rething your strategy.

I say we put it to a simple poll question here: Will John McCain picking Mitt Romney as the vice presidential nominee make you more likely or less likely to vote for McCain?

Much less. One questionable conservative on the ticket is enough. Making a flip-flopping liberal like Romney the heir-apparent is a really, really bad idea.

Well maybe you think of Marx when you hear someone say, "Keep trying until you get it right." Personally I think of my parents, great conservatives who worked their hearts out for every conservative candidate but especially Barry Goldwater, even when the writing was clearly on the wall that he was going to get beaten badly. My parents never quit. When something did not work out as they hoped, they used it as an opportunity to learn. This is a value they passed on to me and I have passed that value on to my children.

Karl Marx probably ate canned corn. Does that mean everyone who eats canned corn is a Marxist?

I am certainly not a drone of any sort and if you took the time to engage me in conversation instead of just angrily defending your position you would probably come to see me as a very independent thinker.

True to my previous statement, I am willing to give it another try if you would like to engage in constructive dialog about potential GOP VP nominees.

I don’t get it. You are saying Mitt would be a good choice because he implemented a government run health care disaster?

Shouldn’t you be embarrassed by this?

So, according to you TRUTH HATERs, anyone who posts
Myth’s actual record is a “Romney Hater”?

I Like Mitt Romney. Dislike his behavior.

Are you adult enough to distinguish the difference?

Apparently not.

It appears that a large fraction of FReeper RomneyBOTs
are in reality DNC trolls, who are here to wreck the GOP.

That is why they are ignoring the train-wreck socialist/fascist bankrupting RomneyCARE.

James Carville (thinks: They are such suckers if they take Romney for VP):
"It's a feel-good story, this Romney thing. Romney is an ascendant guy."

That makes two posts in this thread where you did not use boldface and a bunch of silly pics. Two with no spam. A record. Well done, Dio, keep it up. Even though the content of your comments has not changed, the style has, which is a vast improvement. And I’d say that it’s you that may finally be approaching adulthood by modifying your spam postings. But then again, this may be just a momentary blip in time, so I won’t hold my breath thinking you won’t slip back into your old ways. Back into childhood.

Put down the poster, eh?
Never answer factual data, hmmm?

You are a troll, by your own behavior.
