SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Candy giant Mars pulled a U.K. Snickers advertisement after it was criticized for being homophobic, according to a gay-rights group.
The ad features LDS actor Kirby Heyborne, who has appeared in several LDS-themed movies, including Singles Ward, The RM, The Best Two Years, and others.
In the commercial, Heyborne is seen as effeminate man who is speed walking as Mr. T approaches him in a truck while firing Snickers candy bars at him from a gun. Mr. T then berates the speed walker, calling him "a disgrace to the man race." The commercial ends with Mr. T telling the audience to "Get some nuts."
The candy maker has come under fire before by gay rights groups, most recently over a Snickers ad that played during the 2007 Super Bowl in which two men expressed disgust after accidentally kissing.
Heyborne also recently shocked his LDS fans when he appeared in a Miller Beer commercial.

Let me be clear, however.
The behavior is repulsive and revolting.
The people deserve to be treated as people.
Even sticking their perversion in your face is a behavior, separate from the existance of the person.

I wouldn't say HUGE. I would guess most LDS don't really care much about the silly (and generally mediocre) comedies he is known for. If he were HUGE he wouldn't have to go mainstream to support his family.

Maybe they were just poking fun at speed walkers instead of gays. It seems that there are people who wake up every morning just looking for something to be offended by.
Agreed, but after they depart from it. Until then they pretty much deserve contempt.
Not that it's all that funny, I'd expect better from Mr. T.
