At this point, I believe that true, notarized certified and verified BCs could be produced proving that BHO was born in Moscow, USSR, and nobody would give a rip.

Those that support Obama would not care if he were caught on film while eating live babies....they are all idiots.

Great job on the “background” investigation!

I theorized that the fuzzy outline found in between the letters of the data fields on the Kos image is a dead giveaway that these letters were made by a graphics program.

So? What does this alone prove? Do you know that the State of Hawaii does not use graphics programs in generating copies of birth certificates? If so I would include that in your thesis. Cheers

There may be something to this, but It is far too complicated for you average American Idol loving citizen. Break it like Buckhead with the CBS/Bush papers and you might get the proper attention.

Now, if you had a graphics program that could enlarge “HUSSEIN,” up to pixel level, the smallest unit of the image that can be seen, and look just at the pixels in the vertical space between the double “S,” you will see only FOUR (3) PIXELS, out of about 120 pixels, that are colored any shade of green.

I see a halo around all the letters. The space between the two n's in his mother's name, ANN appears all white. Why? I'm guessing the halos are a result of the scanning of the certificate. I don't see proof in your argument.

Could these anomalies only be due to a graphic program creating the type, what about differences in scanning resolution/scanner quality? You are taking on the tone of a “true believer”, which doesn’t boded well for rational thought. You’re not looking for the truth, you are looking to backup what you know to be true.

sorry to keep asking questions, but is the gist of what you’re saying is that the lack of green is because the document was forged using an 8-bit graphics program? There are so many words in your argument, makes my head hurt a bit :-)

Good find Pissant.

While I only know enough about digital imagery to be dangerous, Polinak makes several very valid arguments.

It seems so simple to provide a COLB, and thousands of Americans must do it every day, I don't understand his hesitation in doing the same. You would think he would want to make at least this one “go away”.

How be the FALCONS ?

Maybe I’ll turn out to have been wrong, but this is getting to be a very, boring “scandal.”

Keep up the good work.

I wonder when this will break. Any junior journalist looking to make a name for himself must be mighty tempted right about now.

I do have a question for you or anyone familiar with this type of doc.

What I find suspicious is the missing of the “hand signature” of the Registrar on the certificate. Normally COLBs or Marriage Certificates do show the “hand signature” of the Registrar.

Anyone have an answer to this?

There is a discrepancy here. Kos's alleged 300dpi scan is 2427px × 2369px, but Polarik's is 1024px × 1000px.

I think we are just seeing JPEG compression artifacts. Here is the same image twice, scanned and saved at 300dpi, but saved once at high compression and again at low:

Low compression (278.8 KB)

High compression (57.94 KB)

The two images look fairly similar, although it is easier to pick out the colored threads embedded in the paper in the low-compression image. If you now go in on a detail, say "This note...", you can see the tradeoff of quality vs file size:

Detail of low-compression JPEG

Detail of high-compression JPEG

Now, for comparison, here's some of that printing at 1200dpi:

It should be clear that the scanning and image compression add enough uncertainty that you really can't tell what went on with the image. Obama needs to authorize the Hawaii authorities to post the real one on the net.
