I was away from the computer Saturday. Checking FR now and came across this sad news.
Prayers for and condolences to Tony Snow’s widow, children, family, and friends.
May Tony rest in God’s peace. He shall be missed.
Just heard the news, and immediately came to Free Republic. Thanks for your ping, Bahbah. Words can’t express the profound sorrow I feel at the loss of this wonderful man. Tony, you will be missed!!! Jill and the kids are in my family and my thoughts and prayers!

Heartbreaking doesn’t begin to describe it.

I tried to post a tribute page link for Tony that’s at the soulestuary over at newsvine, but it’s not showing up for some reason. You can probably search for it to leave a tribute.
I agree .. this was the sadest news .. and everytime Fox mentioned it .. I started crying again.
Then ..... I remembered a statement Tony made the day after he left the WH as Press Secretary .
I think it was someone from Fox who was interviewing Tony .. and they ask him if he had any advice for the GOP .. he paused a moment and then he said:
“THE DEMOCRATS ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS”.
Since Tony was always known for his integrity and candor .. I wish every republican would take this message to heart and realize that reaching across the isle is fruitless. The message it sends to the democrats is ...... WE SURRENDER to the democrat way of doing things.
We must remember .. to the democrats - the word “BI-PARTISANSHIP” doesn’t mean they will cooperate with us .. it means - the republicans must surrender to the democrats’ way of doing things.
I pray our presumptive nominee will finally get the message: THE DEMOCRATS ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS.

He’ll be sorely missed here ... and greatly welcomed in Heaven, I believe.
Great man by all accounts — even by those who should have been foes in the political arena.
My deepest sympathies to the family. Needless to say, there will never be anyone quite like Tony Snow. A patriotic and loving family man, he embodied warmth and kindness and loyalty. He was the real deal. His communication skills were as awesome as his sunny optimism was relentless. He was truly, in every sense of the word, Reaganesque. This is why Tony Snow will be so very sorely missed. May God rest his courageous and loving soul. RIP
