Fox News is announcing that Tony Snow has died.
Heartbreaking news.
I have one more show in my files, but haven’t downloaded
it to my server yet.
I love that song....*sniff*
For a family of 5 living in the D.C. area, $169,000 a year is not a lot of money.
After Tony resigned, he said that his decision to take the job of Press Secretary had been a family decision. He felt he could make a difference, but when the money was gone, he would have to step down. The family understood that.
Then he did say the money had run out. He was going to give speeches and write a book, do many things to support his family, make money for college, etc. He didn’t have a whole heck of a lot of time from that resignation until he started having problems.
Tony told all of us not to worry when he had to cancel 2 speeches, it was a “minor problem, nothing to worry about” and he would be continuing his schedule. I don’t know if he had to curtail his activities after that or not, if that was the start of the deterioration of his health.
I am really going to miss this good man.
We+all+will!
You were a real class act.
I don’t know what I could do to help but for sure I would donate to it!

Beautiful, Meg ... hugs ;)
I probably overreacted, but I was honestly pretty stunned at the subject of the financial future of Tony’s precious family and how coldly I thought Brit handled it. Yep .. I emailed them. I also sent them a link to this thread.

Excerpt:
Im so surprised that, at the end of the show Brit was mentioned Tonys #1 goal of providing for his family, and that was why he was so furiously out all over the country giving speeches, etc. at the end ... even through his devastating illness and treatment.
Brit said We hope he succeeded in that goal.
My honest shock was that Brit didnt announce that a fund has been started by Tonys Fox News family for the Snow family.
It was a very cold way to leave a subject so vital to his great friend and so important for the future of his family.
Yeah, I hope he accomplished it.
If you announced a fund for the family, thousands would be sending in financial donations for the family he treasured so much.
I urge you to do something, rather than leaving the subject in such an uncaring way.
I will be the first person to kick in..however, why do you think that he hasn’t made provisions for his family?
He’ll be sorely missed here ... and greatly welcomed in Heaven, I believe.
Great man by all accounts — even by those who should have been foes in the political arena.
We know that he quit the WH when money was becoming a problem and that ten months to the day later, he passed away.
That is a very short time to fix a problem, don’t you think?
I think this way is less intrusive. SurferBoy is looking into it for us.
Brit was really shaken. Did you see him on Greta’s show on Saturday?
He wasn’t the host on Sunday, which is what Chris Wallace said the schedule was and even during the panel, he wasn’t the most prolific speaker.
I think that he was maintaining his composure out of friendship and respect for Tony as well as for FNC as a whole.
.
My deepest sympathies to the family. Needless to say, there will never be anyone quite like Tony Snow. A patriotic and loving family man, he embodied warmth and kindness and loyalty. He was the real deal. His communication skills were as awesome as his sunny optimism was relentless. He was truly, in every sense of the word, Reaganesque. This is why Tony Snow will be so very sorely missed. May God rest his courageous and loving soul. RIP
