WASHINGTON The Supreme Court's repeal of the ban on handguns in Washington, D.C., may be a boon for a segment of the firearms industry whose last major windfall might have been in the heyday of the Dirty Harry movies: those who make and sell revolvers.
The court ruled that a blanket ban on handguns is unconstitutional, but D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and other Washington officials want to keep in place a prohibition on semiautomatic handguns those in which a bullet clip is inserted into the gun's grip.

The ONLY proper solution is for Congress to DISBAND the D.C City Council and eliminate the office of mayor.
Governing the city of Washington, D.C. is THEIR job.
Ah yes, the libs once again demonstrate they have no respect for the rule of law. They must insist upon keeping the public under their thumb as much as they can. A dominated public is a controlled public. If the voters of D.C. do not vote the gun controllers out of office they deserve what they get.
Apparently the idiots don;t realize that almost all handguns are semi auto, one pull of the trigger one shot. They would have citizens go back to the wild west days of single action revolvers since there are no bolt action revolvers.
But we can’t expect them to know anything about guns.
A handgun is a handgun and they are all legal.
BS! When has a semi-auto ever been “out of time”? Never, yet revolvers often are.
Most smart criminals use revolvers anyway so they don’t leave shell casings at the scene of the crime.
Who is this stopping???
Fenty and his liberal goons don't care that they are violating the law here. They just want to enact a "law" and let someone file suit. The "law" would be upheld by a good liberal judge awaiting trial. The trial would be put on hold for about a year. First judgment would be against the city/district. An appeal would be filed by Fenty's AG and a some liberal judge would uphold the law again awaiting a trial in a appeal. This goes on and on up to the Supremes again and Fenty is hoping Obama has appointed enough liberal justices that his "law" will be upheld!
I've been shooting for 50 years, my carry gun is a revolver, if I go where I want a back up, the backup is also a revolver.
That’s looks like one of them thar “High-Capacity” revolvers that the Constitution doesn’t protect.
It’s an “assault” pistol............
They will just keep going to court until they get a decision they like to stick. Then, and ONLY then, will the issue be untouchable as they will proclaim “the courts have spoken”.
So how exactly would they classify the Webley-Fosberry, a semi-auto revolver?
If only revolvers are allowed, I suggest getting a Lemat </sarcasm>
Seriously, this could be good politically if these idiots keep pushing it. It will keep the gun issue in the news and can therefore be a valid question for Obammaseiah.
Barry, how do you feel about the new D.C. handgun ban on pistols?
Barry, do you think the Chicago handgun ban is unconstitutional?
They’re acting like widdle kids who got their widdle feelings hurt.
Actually, given how obviously unconstitutional this would be, I would guess it would be prevented from going into affect either at the trial or appellate level.
My wife and I carry S&W .357s concealed carry w/permits. I don’t trust autos. I don’t believe in spraying bullets. With proper training, (2 to chest, 1 to head) It is a real crime stopper. At least no repeat offenders. Use Magsafe rounds, it adds to the ‘fun’. /s.off/

Revolvers are more reliable IMO. Many elderly just don’t have the hand strength to rack a semi.
