CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says he disagrees with a Supreme Court decision striking down the death penalty for child rapists, telling reporters Wednesday that states should be able to execute people for “heinous” crimes.

Obama knows which way the wind blows. The vast majority of the American people have no problem in executing rapists of children.

In my OPINION, Obama is simply lying — to try to appear more centrist than he is.

The best way to judge a candidate's real stance on an issue is to see what stance he has taken when he wasn't pressured. Candidates will often change their stated position in response to pressure, but seldom change their real one. The only time I will trust a politician to have change his stance is if he has openly and thoroughly renounced and denounced his previous stance, Zumbo style (yes, I know Zumbo wasn't a politician, but his apology would be a good model to follow).

Which is just one of the reasons that I support the death penalty. The punishment shouldn’t be based on emotions. The left likes to say the same thing but for another reason and that is they believe the DP is driven by anger and revenge.

The truth is that the only penalty that is proportionate to the crime of murder (free of human emotions) is the DP. Therefore, when this penalty is not carried out for the crime of murder, is it due to the human emotions of mercy and compassion for the murderer.

That is not to say I don’t believe in redemption from God. Punishment and redemption are two separate things even though the anti death penalty groups try to link them.

Obama's heinous crimes include drilling for oil, not supporting abortion on demand, and paying less than 60% of your income in taxes.

Oh, and it's not considered heinous unless you are a "typical white person."

OK fact checkers: in the Illinois Senate, Obama opposed the death penalty. Obama applauded when corrupt—and currently imprisoned— Republican governor Ryan emptied Death Row, turning murderers loose in an attempt to sweeten a jury pool he assumed would include Black jurors. Ryan was almost successful—one Black juror was foolish enough to tell fellow jurors that under no circumstances would she vote to convict Ryan. Fortunately, this juror had lied about her background on the jury form and was removed from the panel.

Death penalty ensures criminals won’t repeat, God can judge the executioner, we need to protect society from the worst, and considering all the prison break-outs, the death penalty is far superior at protecting our families from the worst.
