CNS News ^ | June 23, 2008 | Josiah Ryan

Reps. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Maurice Hinchey (D-N.Y.) have said in recent weeks that U.S. oil refineries should be "socialized" -- that is, nationalized and run by the federal government. But Waters apparently is now backing away from those comments...

Yea. The Marxist’s From The Hood of Chicago probably told the sister to shut her lips, that they do not need this to get out until AFTER he is anointed by the children as Commissar. The Marxist’s From the Hood of Chicago don’t need no bad press leaking out. He will do all the crap after he moves into the Black House in Da D.C. Hood.

I don’t see why not. This was the perfect way for the “We need to build more refineries” crowd to get their wish. I always get a chuckle out of this line, as though the oil industry and “WE THE PEOPLE” are one and the same.

But Michael Levin, communications director for Waters, told Cybercast News Service on Friday that Waters did not mean what she said.

“It was one comment in a long hearing, and it has continued to have a life of its own in the blogosphere,” he said. “It was not her intention to announce a big policy proposal. It’s not a developed policy proposal. It was not an intentional statement.”

Ah, but offhand comments can be used to cause political damage.

George Allen said “macaca”. It was one comment. It was not a policy proposal. It was not an intentional statement of derision to that young man. Yet that comment was the beginning of the end for Allen.

Obama said “bitter”. It was one comment. It was not a policy proposal. Yet the Clinton campaign jumped all over one word.

In an interview, Robert Byrd said that “there are white n——ers too”. Sounds outrageous, but because Byrd is a good Democrat, nothing was ever said about his comments.

Dan Quayle misspelled potato. It was just one word, and was not intentional and was not a policy pronouncement. Yet he endured much derision because of it.

I would just like to know when it’s ok to go ballistic over one word somebody says, and when you’re supposed to ignore something. Maxine Waters’ statement has major implications, but apparently we’re supposed to ignore it. Well, she’s a good Democrat, so that’s all we need to know.

“It was not an intentional statement.”

Exactly. It was an UNINTENTIONAL statement of absolute belief, which is whay it has so much life in the blogosphere.

The way Dan Quayle was allowed to "step back" from potatoe?
The way Trent Lott was allowed to "step back" from his remark to Strom Thurmond?

Thomas Fiery, a policy analyst at the libertarian Cato Institute, told Cybercast News Service that he doubts whether Waters, Hinchey or any Democrats truly support the nationalization ("socializing") of U.S. oil refineries.

"The Democrats in general do no support this idea," he said. "My guess is that neither Waters nor Hinchey really support this idea. They are ducking and covering and saying anything that might get people riled up."

No, they (she) really did mean it as she is in fact a commie at heart. Calling it "nationalization" or “socializing” is just a nicey-nice way of saying it, kind of like calling a commie a "democrat."

What they really want is to get control of the refining and produce LESS not more. It will hasten the dependence of the sheep on administrative government and steer them away from representative government.

Basically, she has probably just been told to shut up.

Dan Quayle misspelled potato.

I understand your points and agree with all of them. You also probably know the real facts regarding the Dan Quayle 'Potato' incident. Just for the benefit of those who do not recall, the error was made during a Spelling Bee when the 'answer' card given to Mr. Quayle, contained the error.

Mr. Quayle went along with the error, assuming that the "answer" card was correct.

I’m thinking someone in the DNC told them to shut the hell up, so that voters wouldn’t be spooked before the election. They want to get Obama in the White House first, THEN they’ll look into doing all those things they’ve been salivating over for years.

Costly restrictions and regulations are almost as effective as outright socialization of the oil companies’ extraction, refining, transportation and distribution functions. That way, the government gets to reap virtually all the benefits of the enterprise (cash flow, control of where and how the enterprises will be emphasized, or shut down, aligning the resources where they are most beneficial to continued government control), without being tied down in the minutiae of actually showing up and delivering a day’s work in the office or on the site. One government employee per each oil industrial segment technical, clerical or supervisory position, should be an adequate ratio.

The oil companies continue to remain open, their stock still trades on the stock exchanges, their logos and even some of their advertising remain up, but they are wholly controlled.

Right. It just slipped out. Along with "dictatorship of the proletariat" and "from each according to his ability to each according to his need."

"My guess is that neither Waters nor Hinchey really support this idea. They are ducking and covering and saying anything that might get people riled up."

Really??? Then why did they say it?

I was laboring under the delusion that they were supposed to represent their constitutes not rile them up. Foolish me

Hinchey especially sounded like he was making a coherent statement, he sounded like he loved the idea.

Maxine Waters on the other is dumber than a rock so whatever she says is like taking advice from your doorknob.

At least your doorknob serves a purpose

Hardly fair to the doorknob, IMO.

Waters didn’t make a mistake. She was not speaking in error. For the LibTards, it is about control. It has ALWAYS been about control.

And, it’s time for us to take back America. The DhimmiRats need to be stopped. The Islamofascists need to be stopped. The tree-huggers and enviro-whackos need to be stopped.

We must regain control of the US, or there will be nothing left for our children and grand children but the five-times-daily call to worship, and bread lines. I fear for the future of this grand experiment.

“one comment in a long hearing”

Those silly dems—they always “slip” and show their true socialist sides when they have to pay attention for more than three minutes.

“...We must regain control of the US, or there will be nothing left for our children and grand children but the five-times-daily call to worship, and bread lines. I fear for the future of this grand experiment..”

So...when do we start? Who sets it off? Where’s our modern-day Patrick Henry, our Sam Adams, our Paul Revere and Dr Joseph Warren, and John Hancock? Do we Let them move against us first? When our guns have all been confiscated, and we’re all rounded up and herded into “Re-Education Facilities” and given mind-altering drugs to pacify us, involuntarily committed to “Mental Health Clinics”, our bank accounts frozen, our assets siezed, our children taken away by Child Protective Services and Officer Friendly-Who-Lives-Down-The-Block, or when we’re just outright shot down in the streets during peaceful protests, trying to exercise the shadow of our rights, because we’re deemed “Right-Wing White Seperatists/Paramilitary/Neo-Nazi/Pro-Gun/Fundamentalist Christian/Zionist/Global-Warming Denier/insert-libcommie-euphemism-here”...?

Because THAT’s what’s coming our way, people. It’s happened before, and it will happen again. We’re an ARMED society, sure, but is the WILL there to defend what our ancestors created? Is the FEROCITY there to animate the hearts of Patriots? Or have we become what THEY think we are - papered tigers, grousing in indignation, but eventually just...giving...in...because it’s too...tough to go on fighting...

Waters and Hinchey may be idiots, but they’re COMMITTED, DEDICATED, commie FREAKS in a position to make LAW, as are the majority of their party. How many of us are in that position, to STOP those laws? How many allies do we have left with the BALLS to stand up to them? WE Let them smear and throw Tom DeLay out...WE let them smear and remove Rick Santorum...WE let them smear and remove John Ashcroft... these people were FRIENDS OF OURS, allies...

And we did NOTHING as they took our lines of defense out one by one.

Hell, we can’t even AGREE ON MCCAIN OUT HERE, when he’s the ONLY choice we have. We have people out P*ssing and moaning “He’s NOT a Conservative!!!” “I’ll STAY Home!!” WaaaH!!! WaaaH!!!!

WE HAVE A PROBLEM HERE, FOLKS...Start coming up with answers. There are BRILLIANT minds out here, combat vets, officers, doctors, lawyers, scientists, philosophers - all walks of life from blue collar to white collar. Geez, this is REAL AMERICA out here - the America that SOLVES PROBLEMS AND PUT PEOPLE ON THE MOON. We CAN stop this from happening, but we have to work together.

Find a book called “Defiance” by Oliver Lange, written around 1971 or so, and read it. Study it. He lays out exactly how they Left will do it. It’s not a pretty book. But it is prescient. Because even way back then, some people were paying attention and saw the beast on the horizon.

Then be determined to fight back - by any means necessary. Every mother-lovin’ one of us out here.
