FOX News released this segment of the interview on Special Report with Brit Hume: video link
Ali Abunimah is the co-founder of the online Pro-Palestinian publication The Electronic Intifada and the author of One Country: A Bold Proposal to End the Israeli-Palestinian Impasse.
Here is part of the transcript from the interview with Democracy Now from January:
AMY GOODMAN: Ali Abunimah, I wanted to ask you about the candidates in the United States. Youre speaking to us from Chicago, so lets start with Barack Obama. The stances of the presidential Democratic and Republican candidates on the Israel-Palestine conflict. I cant remember when in a debate they were asked about the mounting crisis there.
ALI ABUNIMAH: I dont know if theyve been asked in a debate, but whenever they have been asked, they have all gone out of their way to express full support for what Israel is doing. Barack Obama is not distinguished from the rest of the pack, except by for how far he has moved to try to appease AIPAC and pro-Israel movements.
I remember, AmyI knew Barack Obama for many years as my state senatorwhen he used to attend events in the Palestinian community in Chicago all the time.
I remember personally introducing him onstage in 1999, when we had a major community fundraiser for the community center in Deheisha refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. And thats just one example of how Barack Obama used to be very comfortable speaking up for and being associated with Palestinian rights and opposing the Israeli occupation. And just yesterday, he apparently sent a letter to Zalmay Khalilzad, the US ambassador at the UN, to urge the US not to allow any resolution to pass criticizing Israel and saying how Israel was forced to impose this barbaric medieval siege on Israel.
None of the other candidates in the mainstream have spoken out for Palestinian rights. The only ones who have taken forceful positions opposing the current US strategy are Dennis Kucinich on the Democratic side and Ron Paul on the Republican side. The mainstream are all perfectly comfortable with the war crimes that Israel is committing, no matter how much they talk about human rights elsewhere.
Barack and Michelle Obama and Professor Edward Said at a May 1998 Arab community event in Chicago at which Edward Said gave the keynote speech. (Bill Baars West Side)
The Electronic Intifada reported earlier on how Obama suddenly learned to love Israel.
More Shocker!! Obama took the endorsement of the Pro-PLO Socialist Party.

If he was half-black/half-Jewish he'd be Blewish.
'Splain this then. FR thread below.
Poll: Most Jewish voters want Obama to win

$inator $hrill didn’t quit last night on her quest to be our dictator in pant suits.
We can expect a lot of these time bombs from Hussein ObamaMessiaHamas’s past to suddenly explode on the tv nets and other places.
Obame is not even half-black, if by black one means a black American, like Tiger’s dad. His father was an African who abandoned him at a very early age, so that he grew up in a white household, and went to elite white colleges. He married into the black community and joined a black church to learn how to act black.
Most Jewish voters are in love with the utopian vision of the Democratic Party. They can convince themselves that the “elders”will control this guy. But if they are not looking, they probably do not see that this guy is under the thumb of his wife and she is one bitter black girl. Further, he could be like Carter and bring loose cannons into his administration. And who does he know?
Ping!
Halfrican-American.
“Mr Edward Said on vacation in Israel”
Actually, not to be too picky, but that’s Said on vacation in Lebanon, throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers on the other side of the border fence. Same scumbag, different location, the point remains the same.
I’m sure there was partying in the streets of Gaza when Obama officially secured the nomination.
Not surprising, but the fact that so many people continue to support this guy is unbelievable.
It won’t matter. Nothing will. No matter what this man does or says, his blind worshipping masses will not budge in their support for this anti-white anti-semetic, American hating marxist. He could spray paint “Jews suck” all over the Vietnam Wall memorial wearing a kaffiyeh while singling the soviet national anthem and they still would not waver.
Shoot, they probably broke out the “forbidden” alcohol and got themselves totally schnockered.
I WAS talking about his supporters, he has very few on OUR side and is proud of it.
I know what you were talking about. Is McCain better or worse than having Hussein Obama for President? If the answer is yes that even as a RINO he still would be better, then those on our side need to support the man, not refer to him with insulting names.
Obama and Hitler are/were both charismatic socialists.
You can support him if you wish, I will not.
And you will achieve an Obama Presidency.
If McCain IS elected, he will be stuck with a democratic congress that will refuse to work with him. So. in order to achieve anything, he will be forced to do their bidding.
After one term, either for health reasons or being voted out of office, the democrates will blame him for all that goes wrong, and get him replaced because of the disaster that the terrible republicans have caused.
I agree with Obama on one point. NO MORE RINOS!
