Listening to the talking heads on CNN claiming that his making this announcement (especially today with the Michigan/Florida thing)was pure genius. That it puts an end to the whole thing and deprives Republicans of using this issue.

BWAHAHA! All the Republicans (or 527s) have to do is play the portion of the Philadelphia speech where he clings to Wright and "the black community" of this church, and then play his renunciation of all of them after TWENTY YEARS. CNN is so in the tank for the Obamamama. They're spinning so fast their heads are going to fall off.

Good point. Many churches will not grant a letter dimissory (or a letter of transfer) to a member without knowing where they’re headed — otherwise they are still considered members. I’m not sure what the UCC’s practice is.

Of course, ecclesiastically speaking, he’s just made himself a non-Christian, having severed his ties to Christ’s body.
