ABC News Radio reports this morning that the Clinton campaign has canceled all tv and radio as well as ground campaign events for Wednesday and a strategy meeting is scheduled for Thursday clearing her calendar as well.
Fox News reported a bit of this last hour as well...
Mrs. Clinton is having an emergency Botox session.
McCain is not going to lose the white vote in the general (they may stay home, but that's another story). Operation "get rid of Hillary while we can" is continuing and looks like it will be a success.
With luck we will learn it before he gets elected. Then McCain will teach us the Dick Nixon lesson.
INDIANA.
The big thing that happened yesterday is that Obama made it much easier for those superdelegates who just want to ratify the primary results and much more difficult for those who want to vote to overrule them? After yesterday, the argument that Hillary is the stronger of the two candidates in the general election becomes a very weak argument indeed.
At this point, what do the supers have to lose going with Obama? What do they have to gain by overriding Obama?
They can only look good voting with the majority. They can only look bad going against the “will of the people”.
It’s over, Hillary. It is over.
Don't underestimate Hillary's voters. I know quite a few and they are hardcore Hillary, and see Obama as a weak link. I would also add that many of Obama's voters, like this one in Virginia, crawled over broken glass to vote against Hillary.
Clinton still has some things she can use to make her appear more viable to challenge McCain.
Clinton has won states with a total combined population of 176.4 million (148.5 million w/out FL and MI).
Obama has won states with a total combined population of 108.7 million.
Since many do not vote in the primaries, Clinton can make the case that her appeal (in November) would be to a greater number of voters than Obama’s would be.
CNN shows the difference at
155 more for Obama (out of 3,831 total delegates) with superdelegates;
169 more for Obama (out of 3,036 pledged delegates) without superdelegates.
RealClearPolitics shows
150 more for Obama with superdelegates;
164 more for Obama without superdelegates.
[A major negative against Clinton is that her Indiana win was not by a very large number — only about 3%.]
[Reaching across the aisle to moderates and Independents, McCain still has problems appealing to the Republican voters. He, the assured nominee, still loses 23% of the GOP vote in Indiana, 27% in North Carolina and 27% in Pennsylvania.]
They don't want to do the free publicity events because they will be hammered with questions about dropping out. They can't afford to do their own events; they're broke.
I don’t think she will do that. I think she will just campaign on and try to get her money back. And wait four years. There is no way in hell the dems will deprive Obama the nomination now. None. But I don’t think she will go nuclear.
There is a sizeable minority of democrats who will NEVER vote for Obama. They are the over 50 white working class that will vote for the old white republican first or just stay home. Their ONLY hope is an Obama/Clinton ticket. of course, Obama would be crazy to consider it.
I am in your pew. Obama with a dem congress will do things that will ruin us. Sort of like LBJ. It may take a generation to feel what he could do with a willing congress and a blinded populace. He terrifies me.
hehehe
While that was no-doubt running through his mind like Eight Belles at the Kentucky Derby (which was Hillary's unfortunate pick, btw), I actually thought he looked like he was fresh out of "give a darns". Aloof and bored.
WJC has been mercurial during this whole process. He's made mistakes he should know better than to ever have made, leading me to think that he is having to force himself to campaign.
As an aside, from our friends in the Australian press, a snide aside about Hillary & Eight Belles:
"The only filly in the Derby, which Senator Clinton urged her supporters to put their money on, broke both its ankles and was destroyed on the track after the race ended.
Clinton's horse, Eight Belles, had managed to finish second. It was beaten by a less-experienced horse.
Clinton will be hoping her appearance on national television the night before the primary will go better than her flutter on the filly.

The fact of the matter is: The Dems have no candidate...They have a black man and a white woman and both are pure socialists. We'll become a third world country.....a vulnerable third world country.
Bubba's drawing down our military was the first step.
An inexperienced, empty suited black-muslim was supposed to be an easy opponent to overcome...'It' just didnt realize how sick [even the avg socialist] voters are of the toooooons...
if 'It' doesnt gain some traction, or if b Hussein continues to be 'uppity', look for a coke overdose in the run-up to november...
'It' WILL be on the ballot for the general...
>bad bubba voice<...god, will you please make this b!tch stfu so I can get back to my trailer-trash-crack-whore in the limo...>/bad bubba voice<...
It would really be much better for the nation if Obama lost during the Rat convention. That way all the rioting and destruction will (1) Be confined mainly to Denver; and (2) Be hung on the Rat party.
What if Obama makes it to November and then loses? Then it’s “all America’s” fault, including the Pubbies.
We have to wait to hear from Baghdad Bob - er, Lani Davis...
Has Huma strapped on her suicide vest yet?
Need to plan the war on the Obama Family. Team Clinton has gone to the mattresses. Expect bodies and blood — all deniable of course, like logs rolling of a logging truck onto a bicyclist. Or a pickup rolling over a guard rail at high speed along some deserted WV mountain curve, down the cliff. Mountainside vegetation and vines grow fast in the spring. Not found for weeks. / sarc >
