Ed Frawley Posted Video on YouTube to Expose Conditions at Fort Bragg
When Edward Frawley went to welcome home his 22-year-old son, who was returning from a tour of duty with the 82nd Airborne Division in the mountains of Afghanistan, he was in for a shock.
Not to hear the stories about Jeff's battles with insurgents, but to witness his son's current living conditions at Fort Bragg, N.C.
So, Frawley did what any concerned citizen does he posted a video on YouTube two weeks ago, containing still photos of moldy ceiling panels, broken toilet seats, backed up sewage water flooding a bathroom, exposed pipes and demanded that viewers contact their congressmen.

I hear what you're saying but it's the Public Works Department made up of highly paid civilians who are tasked with the maintenance on these buildings and not U.S. Army Staff Sergeants who are considered part of the senior enlisted ranks.
Anyway having said that these soldiers should have been assigned to other quarters even if it meant in a hotel offbase.
Any truth to that?
The typical Army answer to all of these problems is to slap on a coat of brown paint.
That's right. Paint over the mold and lead chips. No sanding. No re-plastering. Just paint over it. I saw it first-hand once, and I never looked at life in the barracks the same again.
Of course it’s up to the gov’t to provide for the supplies, but the manpower is there, and available to do the work...
Get out the toothbrushes!
Now, now. You know you just can’t discount every immigration fixated thread hijacker. They all have a point you know.
Gas prices? Immigration’s the cause.
Mortgage bust? Immigration.
No cure for obesity? You got it...immigration.
And so on. You obviously haven’t been here that long.

Those buildings were beyond scrub brushes and paint. That wasn’t a latrine. It was hepatitis city.
most civilians in the support areas of military bases dont give a damn for the troops. All they want is a job, a pay check and benefits which usually are far better than the troops they support. ME, ME, ME. Thats what everyone says until a situation like this happens, then it HIM, HIM, HIM. No one will take the blame. It will never change.
Base housing support has been outsourced.

That whole section of Fort Bragg is under renovation and the old style barracks as shown in the video are being pulled down and replaced by new ones.
This has resulted in a bit of musical barracks for the units who are coming and going.
With their early return their barracks was not ready.
That’s their barracks, where they live—not a foxhole.
The level of bureaucracy in getting anything construction related done is outrageous. The committee thing is not surprising in the slightest.
As a civilian government engineer I was plagued in the other branches with the notion of site adapting a building plan without regard to the outdoor weather conditions in the new location. I was once told by a Colonel that the weather conditions in Illinois arent that different than the Gulf Coast despite having the mold and mildew throughout the building to prove otherwise. Its possible this is an HVAC problem rather than outright neglect. I wouldnt be surprised if several inadequate projects had been done to try to correct the problem.
I also noticed that the boys tended to let things really get nasty before complaining, as opposed to the other gender.
good one
That sure sounds like a great way to come back. “Welcome back, here’s a paint roller. Before you get everything you own out of storage, we need to overhaul these barricks.” I had to deal with barracks contractors the whole time I was in the states. Trying to get them to fix or replace anything is like pulling teeth. I’m 27 years old, and I get to live in a space about the size of a walk in closet. Go Ft. Huachuca. I know of married couples who are the same rank as myself, who have three bedroom homes and no children. Where’s the fairness in that? Military housing is a joke.
Another typical bitter white grandmother clinging to guns and religion.
Bitter doesn't describe me, though. That's a stereotype. LOL
Nope, Senior NCO (enlisted) starts at E-7 not E-6. At least that's the way it was when I did my turn.
This kind of stuff shows a problem at the NCO level. They need to kick some ass, or have their asses handed to them.
Out.
