Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, accused of being elitist for remarks he made about small-town American voters, said on Tuesday the slap at his background is amusing and signals a nation in the midst of "political silly season."
The Democratic senator, campaigning in Pennsylvania, dismissed the charges of being elitist and out of touch by fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton and by Republican John McCain as unfounded, given his background.
"I am amused about this notion of elitist, given that when you're raised by a single mom, when you were on food stamps for a while when you were growing up, you went to school on scholarship," he told a town hall meeting of U.S. military veterans in western Pennsylvania.

Why isn’t the Hillary’s dyke who surreptitiously recorded the private conversation in a closed fundraiser getting Linda-Tripp treatment?

His dismissive reply is a prime example of his elitist attitude.

This is why we need Obama to win, and get Hildabeast out of the way ASAP. Obama will either be beaten or ineffective.

With this guy, one has to ask, "Is any of this true?" Didn't his grandmother raise him after he left Indonesia? Also, the Food Stamp line seems contrived. Well, his whole persona is contrived...

Wrong. This Marxist is only being outed because the Clinton controlled Dem Media outlets are reported the facts. Once the dem party has one candidate the Dem media will be united to peddle the DNC talking points and the trashing of McCain. The Dem media knows this division had made them lose valuable DNC propaganda time and its driving them crazy !

Further down in the article...
Obama's comments on Tuesday came in response to a man in the audience who said he felt the label of elitist was not far from the label of "uppity," a racially insulting term used against blacks.
Interesting...

There's nothing silly about how the Clinton machine is going to grind up the Obama campaign into tiny little pieces. They're moving in right now with new ads taking advantage of his stupid remarks about small town Americans.
It's going to be relentless, as the Clinton's always are.
Obama’s a clumsy amateur going up against wily professionals with little or no scruples. He hasn't a chance.

The truly silly part is that someone so vile and loathsome could be considered, by anyone, to be among the elite.

Anyone see the video of Michelle Obama responding today over the elitism charges ?
She was in a fury-raging away in her “ Oh no you didn’t , don’t go there girlfriend !! “ voice .
This may surpass her never been proud of being an American moment, just for the unbridled anger.
When it hits You Tube, it should throw more gasoline on the fire.
Nobody in their right mind could possibly think skinny, lil Obama wears the pants in that household.

Barry is trying to prove his point using facts that are over thirty years old. We're pretty sure he wasn't an elitist when he was eight years old but he is definitely an elitist now.

Raised by his grandparents, sent to private school, the food stamps must have been when he lived with his mother.
Who knew they had food stamps in the ‘60’s, in Indonesia?

Some of the most snobbish elitest people I know have come from poor or working class backgrounds. It's not the background that matters but the attitude of the individual. Sometimes if someone is ashamed of their background, they become even more arrogant in their attitudes to try to cover up that feeling and in how far they've come away from their roots. (My sister got that way after taking God101 in med school.) I'd bet Obama never bragged about being on foodstamps until he got into politics, where he could use it to try to 'relate' to those he has a disdain for.

O’Bambino stepped in it like no one since Nixon in 1960. Things that he said, even if they were true, one says only to trusted aids and campaign strategists, not to a buncha strangers with thick wallets. The Klintoons are going to kill him, and then kill McDole in November.
