Tunes For The Troops
**Artist Showcase**
Disturbed is a rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The group was formed in 1996 when musicians Dan Donegan, Steve "Fuzz" Kmak, and Mike Wengren hired singer David Draiman in Chicago, Illinois. Originally classified as a nu metal band, Disturbed is now regarded by some music critics as hard rock or heavy metal, although others now regard them as alternative metal. However, the band's genre is still being debated. When asked about die-hard metal fans not finding Disturbed heavy enough, frontman David Draiman stated:
"We probably have too much melody going on or we're not quite as turbulent or caustic. While I really love that type of music, it's not what we try to do. If we have to place things in context, we're more hard rock than heavy metal these days."
This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the variety of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays provide throughout the thread. Please ping LaurenMarlowe with your requests for the Troops.
All music is removed on Monday. Thanks to all the DeeJay's for their time & effort providing entertainment for the Troops!
*Canteen Mission Statement*

Oh, my! I think that is the first post of framed flowers I have gotten (just to ME) in months. (Maybe it is the first I ever got! Memory doesn’t go too far back. LOL!)
THANK YOU, MM! They smell so pretty! Hugs!

She’s been keeping in touch through email. There are computers everywhere in Australia.
A few hours ago she was on a catamaran over the Great Barrier Reef. Well, she said she didn’t know if it was a cat or a pontoon boat because she hadn’t seen it yet.

Too bad they’re not real!
I love the smell of lilacs!
I went to this fragrance site online looking around for something that had a lilac scent, and I couldn’t find anything. :(

Nite PROCON, rest well.
See ya tomorrow!

Coolest of graphics. The condensation bouncing all over the wings in flight like that is breathtaking.
I remember Chuck Yaeger saying that with the second aricraft that broke the sound barrier, it had a bulbous cockpit cover so that he could see the wings. As he approached the sound barrier he could see the shock waves dancing all over the wings. That must have been awe inspiring.

You are just noticing me lol I'll let you in on a little secret, in case you haven't figured it out yet. The Canteen may have a handful (20 or 30?) regular posters. However, there are probably two to three hundred who'll drop in to watch the banter and get a chuckle.
You've been seen by a whole passel o' folks who've not spoken with you yet!

Had to break for some police drama...police went running thru the yard. We back up to a grade school....the officer said a kid tried to set the school on fire. They think he’s hiding somewhere here in the cul-de-sac. Phone in hand I’ve been looking around any hiding place here. I hope they have the dog on the way. And I sound like a frog, can barely talk. BRB!
