Tunes For The Troops
**Artist Showcase**
Disturbed is a rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The group was formed in 1996 when musicians Dan Donegan, Steve "Fuzz" Kmak, and Mike Wengren hired singer David Draiman in Chicago, Illinois. Originally classified as a nu metal band, Disturbed is now regarded by some music critics as hard rock or heavy metal, although others now regard them as alternative metal. However, the band's genre is still being debated. When asked about die-hard metal fans not finding Disturbed heavy enough, frontman David Draiman stated:
"We probably have too much melody going on or we're not quite as turbulent or caustic. While I really love that type of music, it's not what we try to do. If we have to place things in context, we're more hard rock than heavy metal these days."
This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the variety of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays provide throughout the thread. Please ping LaurenMarlowe with your requests for the Troops.

I just remembered something about Clint Eastwood.
I have the DVD of “The Outlaw Josey Wales”.
In it there are little tidbits about the movie, extra interviews, etc. In the interview with him he spoke out against war, in general. That movie was made while the Vietnam War was still the hot topic. He didn’t speak out against the government.....just against war, period.
However, the way he spoke, his demeanor, etc, I had the gut-feeling that he wasn’t being sincere. My assumption at the time was that he had been coerced into making statements like that, even though he did not have those feelings, by the socialist director just for the purposes of the interview.

Thanks for the Beatles songs. I attended the ‘66 Candlestick park concert and we unwittingly escorted the Beatles’ to the concert as we followed a Brinks truck for miles before it pulled off the 2nd exit before Candlestick Then after most of the shreiking fans were seated, it pulled into the stadium and out poured the Beatles!
