Tunes For The Troops
**Artist Showcase**
Disturbed is a rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The group was formed in 1996 when musicians Dan Donegan, Steve "Fuzz" Kmak, and Mike Wengren hired singer David Draiman in Chicago, Illinois. Originally classified as a nu metal band, Disturbed is now regarded by some music critics as hard rock or heavy metal, although others now regard them as alternative metal. However, the band's genre is still being debated. When asked about die-hard metal fans not finding Disturbed heavy enough, frontman David Draiman stated:
"We probably have too much melody going on or we're not quite as turbulent or caustic. While I really love that type of music, it's not what we try to do. If we have to place things in context, we're more hard rock than heavy metal these days."
This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the variety of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays provide throughout the thread. Please ping LaurenMarlowe with your requests for the Troops.

Hey Sarge,
The next time that I go to Merry ol' England (which will also be the first time) I intend to make it a point to see the "John Snow Pub."
John Snow (1813-58), the London doctor of obstetric anaesthesia fame, was also an expert in epidemiology with an abiding interest in the study of cholera. During the severe cholera outbreak in 1854 in London, he analysed the geography of water supply and mortality patterns in Soho. There was a disproportionate number of cholera cases in houses supplied by one water company, with nearly 500 cases within a few blocks of a single water pump alone on Broad Street.

Good evening, alfa...((HUGS))...what a cool house. Very nice “brick” work and flower box. Thank for the Saturday Sortie...great pictures...love the aerial refueling, but the gaggle of globemasters is really something else!

The N9m was[is] a proof of concept aircraft. and is made all out if wood and was insivible to the radar of the time. It was the precursor to the “flying wing” aircraft of the late 40’s & early 50’s, but the birds fell victim to the political fighting between corporations & congeress at the time even thought President Truman like them a lot.
I got to see it fly in 1997 at the Yuma Airshow, and was given a hands on view of the aircraft after I expressed interest in it. [Man was that a rush too!! :>) ]
The flying wing was a hand full to fly as a prop & a nightmare as a jet. It wasn not untill we were able to develop a computer that was able to handle the minute in flight corrections, were we able to bring about the mighty B2!
