Cesar Laurean, wanted since Jan. 11 for the killing of a pregnant Camp Lejeune Marine, has been captured in Mexico, said Capt. Rick Sutherland of the Onslow County Sheriff's Department.
More details will follow as they develop.
Oh - and during the presser - all of the LE representatives went overboard with praise for “Christina” - not Mrs. Laurean. They mentioned how much she still loves her husband (the mother & baby burner)and how she did not provide him with money - which would have been a felony - but only communicated with him - which of course is not illegal.
Her attorney also claimed that the Marines had ordered her not to comment on the case - to keep a low profile and asked that the press respect her privacy in this sensitive matter.
That wifey is smart - she has all of them fooled.
Sickening.
If Cesar Laurean PLANNED to kill Maria - he surely would have taken her to an isolated place and disposed of her body. Wife would not have known or could have provided an alibi and there would not have been a barbecue.
However, if Maria’s killing was the result of an angry rage attack - who is the most betrayed and aggrieved party in this triangle?
And the strangest words out of the captured Laurean “I loved her”. Have to wonder what reaction that admission will provoke from Christina?
I’m just glad he got caught.
I don’t care who takes the credit.
and i hate our filthy government for selling us all out by importing the economic refugees ( like this slime ball) to come take OUR jobs !
mexicans have the special priveledge of going back home and changing ID when they get in trouble.....all we get with citizenship is Jury Duty
I do. NCIS was the one agency I left out.
For the record, I’ve noted quite a few posters are not giving this man the presumption of innocence.
No one knows what the facts will bear.
He may have only been responsible for field day.
We can still execute his wife.
Get a rope!
There are SO many things about this case that do not make sense to me. I hope that one day the details come out. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but it is difficult!
You can say that again!
It will be interesting to see if the same applies to the UCMJ, but I wouldn't count on a death sentence. Too bad. The SOB needs to dance at the end of a rope.
Jacksonville, N.C. The Onslow County sheriff might have been in contact with Camp Lejeune Marine indicted in the killing of a pregnant comrade about a week before his capture in Mexico, authorities said late Friday.
Wherever did the bloke get the idea that NCIS would convict with no evidence?

Sir,
Can you assure immunity from a military court martial if I come back? , I know they will convict me with no evidence, I cant risk Leavenworth or a chain gang, what can you do for me?

"We had intel that he had gone back to America to visit his family in Las Vegas and I was hoping they would arrest him in America," Hudson said. "But they didn't. This is a case that certainly is deserving to be tried as a capital case."
Too bad he wasn't arrested in the U.S. - at least he is captured and will face justice.
Great news, now lets tell the Mexicans he will not be Executed for this crime, and get him back here......
Then execute him for desertion in time of war.
That sounds reasonable to me, and probably most people at FR.
However, one news report states:
If the Marine Corps wishes to try Laurean, it must file charges before his first extradition hearing. The extradition process could take between two months and a year, depending on if Laurean decides to fight it.
Can anyone here confirm if that is correct? WRAL is usually very thorough and accurate in their reporting, but I'd like to know from someone who is experienced with UCMJ as it relates to International Law.
From your CNN link:
“Maria Lauterbach had accused Laurean of raping her. He denied the allegation and any sexual contact with her.”
“I loved her,” Laurean said Thursday night when a Mexican reporter asked whether he killed Lauterbach
Sure had a strange way of showing it.
Let the Marines use this scum as target practice.
Unless his wife killed her in a jealous frage and then planned to pin it on him...
