I hope all conservatives who rightfully despise McCain will follow him and support McCain, if not for him, at least against the Democommunist Party.

Many people had the same type of erroneous thought when they supported Hitler pre WWII. You need to look past the R and D after a candidate's name and recognize socialism to any degree is still socialism regardless of party affiliation.

I’m not voting for him. You can spin it any way you like, but it’s not going to happen. Get mad about that if you want, but I want you to have a realistic expectation of what’s going to happen on election day.

is hating mcCain reason enough for any conservative to not vote for him and risk letting our brave heroes in the military be in obama or hillary's hands ?

Wrong question. The question is hating socialism enough not to vote for any candidate regardless of which party they belong? The answer is always yes.

Another question to ponder is why does the GOP always make it incumbent on conservatives to sacrifice their values instead of pressuring socialists to cede their principles?

there are a million reasons why it would be a disaster for either obama or hillary to become president and i'm sure you have heard them all so i don't need to recite them.

if that nightmare scenario happened, THAT would be the real sacrifice.

i can't speak for you, but i love my country more than i love my 'conservative principles'

Tanc had his chance in the primaries. Even Tanc knows that.

You really believe that?

Which of the above two sentences are you having trouble with?

Tanc clearly had his chance in the primaries. Having had his chance and having lost, Tanc is now clearly supporting the flawed (but better than Hillary/Obama) candidate, McCain.

Pretty simple to believe, really. Especially when it is Tanc in his own words saying it.

Nope...can’t do it. I don’t even care who wins. I am NOT voting for McCain regardless of who his opponent is! The former Republican conservatives who keep saying we will come home in the end are wrong. At least about me. I don’t have a home anymore.

Then you will continue to slip into the incremental socialist dogma the GOP has been descending into for years. There comes a time when you have to draw a line in the sand and say no more socialism at all otherwise each election the rationalization becomes well we can always vote for a conservative in the next election. The end result is a conservatism never advances while socialism continues to march on. Careful what you wish for it might come true.

To be, or not to be, that is the question:

To Huckabee or not to Huckabee, that was never a tough question.

Most voters chose the latter.

If Tancredo really did seriously decide to continue to run for ‘08 POTUS as either an Independent or from within some third political party, such as the Constitution Party, then he will truly also end up indirectly helping the final Democratic choice for POTUS win on November 4. That’s truly the ongoing problem with supporting a truly conservative person for POTUS who isn’t also the final GOP choice for POTUS. The “lesser of two evils” is still alive and well in American politics, like it or not. :(

Screw pragmatic. I am tired of that word and the people that ho themselves.

Just disgusting. Thats why we are in this mess with an open borders, free speech screwing, Juan Hernandez hiring freaking old man RINO as a candidate.

Quit bringing up Reagan. McCain ain’t no Reagan and never will be.

Geesh.

Better incremental socialism — where there is at least time to offer opposition — than the instant socialism of a Hillary! or Obama and a Democrat Congress. Their “program” would be in place before anyone knew what hit ‘em.

Stuffy “protest voters” in ‘06 gave us our present insanely goofy Congress. I shudder to think what they might give us in November.

Remember: If you vote McCain and a conservative Republican Congress to keep an eye on him, you are light years ahead of Hillary! or Obama with a blank check.

ronald reagan was a conservative idealist who practiced pragmatic politics when necessary.

Very rarely, very rarely.

The road to hell is paved with the stones of pragmatism.

A lot of the “suicide pact” Republicans who’ve vowed that they’d no sooner vote for McCain than Obama or Hillary ought to follow Tancredo’s lead.

I was going to ignore this thread..., but noooo, you had to do it. You had to do it!!! ;-)

Right now I’m thinking ahead to 2012. I’m thinking Ted Kennedy might not be so bad. I know we’ve ripped him for decades, but if we can get him to change his party affiliation, I just might do it rather than let a Demcorat be elected.

Nancy Pelosi has another fine mind. Like John McCain, she’s been ripped by Conservatives non-stop for quite some time. If only she would change her part affiliation, who knows.

Harry Ried, Barney Frank, Janet Reno, Gray Davis, come on down. You could be the proud winners of Conservative support. All you have to do is get an (R) after your name and promise that you are now a Conservative. Conservatism is changing. Those old worn out values don’t matter any longer.

Here’s a tip folks. No matter what you’ve done in the past, just promise that you’re going to be the best president, like ever. The brain trusts of Conservatism will herald your rebirth and back yer ass.

Now this may sound like a really uncomfortable thing to do but keep this in mind. It won’t matter if you voted for Ginsberg, Kennedy or Souter. It won’t matter if you did things like advocate the issue of MIAs be put to rest, or advocate on the behalf of illegal allien crimmigrants. It won’t matter if you advocate Europe get sign off on our policies. It won’t even matter if you support Al Gore’s global warming. See, this is going to be less painful than you thought. Give it some thought.

BTW, all you Democrats out there that I’ve been railing against for the last four decades, I’m sorry. I should have been voting for you. Just about every leader of my party today says so.

All you Clinton supporters out there that voted for Bill no matter what because of the letter after his name, I’ll have to beg your forgiveness too. Voting for people today because of the letter after their name is in vogue.

God have I ever been a fool for the last 40 years. I could have been supporting your policies for all that time and still be a Conservative in good standing.

James Carville, what are you doing in 2012? Give me a call bud. I’m in the (R) area code.

Ah yes the always convenient losing tactic of settling for the lesser of two evils approach that has been used in past elections and the result is a GOP candidate who was courting the Democrats in 2001 to switch parties, considered becoming socialist John Kerry's running mate in 2004, agrees with the socialist Democrats on amnesty for illegal aliens, agrees with the socialist Democrats concerning the fallacy of global warming through the Lieberman-McCain Stewardship Climate Act and supports limiting free speech with the McCain-Feingold Act. The devil is in the details.

It's a sad day in the mornin when good, right thinking people hafta kiss the ring of a small prig like John McCain!!!

The Republican Party at all levels, should certainly not be the least bit proud of it's candidate production this cycle!!!

Conservatives have every reason to feel radicalized and enraged over this pukification of our candidates. There is NO valid excuse for this!!!
