But he's still a constitution trampling RINO and unless he repeals McCain-Feingold, repudiates amnesty and global warming, drops all support for embryonic stem cell research and stops talking about partnering up with the Democrats and instead swears to fight the evil bastards he won't be getting my support.
You kicked the conservatives to the curb and nominated your RINO, now all you gotta do is get him elected.
However, that shouldn't be all that tough to do. Look what he'll be running against. I am a McCain apologist.
I am a McCain apologist, but I did not kick the conservatives to the curb, and I did not nominate the RINO. I fought McCain at every turn, and supported better candidates at every opportunity.
But that's all over now. We fought and lost. Time for the next fight.
I simply do not buy the argument that McCain is as bad, or worse, than the 'Rat alternatives. They are much, much worse. I cannot withdraw from the fight while there is a possibility that Mr. Obama or Mrs. Clinton could be elected to Presidency of the United States. That would be a disaster.
So call me an apologist, call me a RINO, call me whatever you want, but I will be supporting John McCain to the hilt between now and November. My friends know how I feel. My friends know how I got to this point. It serves no purpose to hold my nose in public and show my disdain for McCain while I am trying to support him. That lessens my effectiveness while advocating on his behalf. It is vain posturing that is ultimately self-defeating.
