Attn McCain Haters: SHUT Your Stinking TRAP! (Vanity)
skank the sock puppet ^ | 3/30/08 | Cinnamon Girl

Posted on 03/31/2008 8:36:23 AM PDT by Cinnamon Girl

By now, most McCain haters will have already skipped down to the comments section to post their expletives and tell me how it’s a free country and they have a 1st Amendment right, etc. to yammer on and on about how bad McCain sucks, totally missing the point of my post, again. But I’m here to tell you, in this free country, that in my opinion, you should SHUT YOUR STINKIN TRAP! To all you ingrates, rageaholics, and self-absorbed punks, WE KNOW YOU HATE MCCAIN. You can give yourself a rest now and stop posting on every single thread the same exact comments. I’m not going to name names, but I will if I have to. I think we all know by now who I’m talking about. The folks who post the same pictures and the same comments on EVERY SINGLE THREAD. We got it. You aren’t voting for McCain. Fine. Time to move on. Yes, that’s my opinion. You have had enough time to accept the reality that John Sidney McCain III, WAR HERO, is the Republican nominee. Some folks on FR have used this time to learn more about Johnny, realize that he isn’t as bad as they thought, grow up, act like adults, and get in gear to vote for him. Some of you have decided not only to beat your collective dead horse everyday, banging out the same tiresome gripes about McCain on every thread, but you’ve also gotten increasingly VITRIOLIC. I’m talking about the following trash:

1. Saying McCain isn’t really a war hero because (insert stupid lie here.)

2. Declaring that McCain urged the U.S. government to leave other POWs back in Vietnam (for what reason would he do this exactly? Don’t bother, I don’t want to hear your lies anymore.)

3. Insulting other FR posters who like or support Johnny by using profanity, vulgarity, and name calling. YOU ARE DIMINISHING FR with your hostile posts—this kind of stuff belongs on low rent leftie sites like DU, or Daily Kos, not FREE REPUBLIC, the shining star of conservative websites.

4. AND FINALLY, the filthiest load in the McCain Haters’ verbal trebuchet: wishing, hoping or praying that John Sidney McCain III would come to some misfortune which would prevent him from living to be President. THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST DISGUSTING. How can you wish that a decent, G-d fearing man who suffered and sacrificed out of love for this country, who, BY THE GRACE OF G-D, survived five years of torture and imprisonment only to return to service in the military—how could you wish him anything but a long, long life? Shameful. And don’t DARE try to suggest that you are any better in moral character or principle than the angry liberal scum who wish ill upon President Bush or our troops. If your definition of “conservative” is to rage daily and most repulsively against our next President, then please call me a “right wing Reaganite traditionalist” because I want no part of your scene. I realize that some talk show hosts like Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity don’t like Johnny, but I don’t recall hearing them praying for his untimely demise. No, that is the talk of the dregs of society, not adults who have their act together.

And just a heads up to all the McCain haters: I am ignoring your tirades henceforth. I can’t stop you from posting your garbage, but I certainly don’t have acknowledge it. Basically, the point of posts from people who like Johnny these days is to share daily news: tracking polls, statements he has made, who he is touring with, speeches he has given, leaders he has met with, etc. What is YOUR point? To seek out people to commiserate with? To insult fellow conservatives who’ve decided having a responsible leader in a time of war trumps giving the GOP a spanking? To try and rally others to joins the haters camp?

Are you going to do this for the next several years? If so, the best advice I can give to the non-haters is to wade through the rage and seek out the decent and the productive on FR. Do not waste your time debating the haters, because they seem to thrive on self-righteousness and rage. Try as they might, they have given absolutely no GOOD reason to allow a dem to win the presidency. Their continued daily rantings about why they hate McCain, on EVERY thread about him, only serve to define their insanity.

I seek out those of like mind. G-d Bless John Sidney McCain III.

P.S. McCain haters, please review the link in order to familiarize yourselves with the sound of Skank's voice so you can hear his directive in your head when you are about to post something vile.

How many, and which, of your core conservative values have you had to compromise in order to support McCain?

None. Conservatism is a political philosophy, not a religion. On every single issue where McCain disagrees with me, the Democrats also disagree with me. On every issue where he agrees with me, the Democrats disagree with me. I am choosing the most conservative candidate available to me, which is exactly what I'd be doing if the nominee had been Hunter or Thompson.

You know, if you want to tell people they're wrong, that's great, but this whole "compromise your principles" thing just makes you guys look silly, like someone telling a sailor in a damage control party that he's a traitor to his shipmates because the ship won't be inspection-ready when he's finished patching up the torpedo hole. Right now the country has taken a hit, and people who don't want to do damage control because they might get their uniform dirty are looking pretty silly.

No offense, but I wonder why all the people like yourself aren’t busy helping conservative congressional campaigns instead of sitting around thinking up new ways to tell people they aren’t “real” conservatives.

Why should he worry about anything we believe if we vote for John McCain now. We already know what he stands for and if we vote for him we simply prove his point that we don’t have the guts to let the Republican party lose. If we are willing to vote for John McCain then as long as the party runs a nominee that is marginally less liberal than the democrat then the party’s political strategists can count on getting our votes. Basically we are playing a game of chicken and they are counting on the fact that we will blink first. So, I don’t hate McCain but I want him to lose so that we don’t establish a precedent that liberal moderates are electible.

You may well be right about that, if McCain loses. However, some people DO feel that if we sit out this election, then the RINO/President Bush/Ken Mehlman GOP will be so distraught that they’ll return to the principles of old, as happened under Clinton.

Others feel, as do I, that if John McCain wins he will push his censorship of groups like the NRA and Right to Life to its next logical conclusion...hate speech crimes like Canada has, where people are fined, thrown in jail or charged with crimes for expressing disagreement with homosexuals or Muslims.

They also feel that McCain’s censorship of groups critical to politicians will extend to the internet, and we’ll see forums like Freep shut down, fined or regulated for allowing people to voice dissaproval of politicians 60 days before an election.

They feel that if McCain is in charge when that censorship, such as we see in Canada, the UK and other countries throughout the world, that when it comes through a GOP president, no one in Congress in the GOP will fight it, whereas with Clinton/Obama the GOP would fight it tooth and nail, as it did not come from a sitting GOP president.

Regardless of why these folks are not voting for McCain, whether his loss will shake up the GOP or whether we will suffer less suppression of free speech under a president hostile to the GOP, (as the GOP will feel free to fight that suppression,) regardless of why others are not voting for McCain, I’ll tell you why I am not voting for him.

I simply cannot, and will not, ever vote for someone who wants to suppress free speech, for someone that wants to censor groups like the NRA and Right to Life so they cannot run ads supporting or opposing politicians during an election.

That, to me, is the most repugnant thing a politician can do...censor groups that want to exercise their 1st Amendment rights under the constitution, like McCain has done, and will continue to do as president.

I would rather see this nation completely fall apart than voluntarily vote for someone who wants to suspend or abrogate the constitution of the United States.

if that’s truly the only candidate we can muster up, one who takes away the NRA’s right to criticize him during elections, then God help us all.

To me...that’s a sign that we’re already basically gone as a free country, and to vote for such a man is simply a vote from me to him to destroy our constitution.

Ed

Even if that were NOT the case, though,

Accepting an America-hating, Osama-appeasing idiot for Commander-in-Chief is not guts, it's cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.

“I seek out those of like mind.”

It’s so hard to find like minded people that after 40+ years and only finding my wife, I have given up trying.

Still, I often ask my wife - Are we the only human beings left on earth? What do you have to do to meet a real person, make one?

The liberal republican elites are counting on the fact that conservatives like you and I are going to blink and vote for McCain anyway. If we accept McCain now then we will lose all of the clout that we currently have. Because they will not believe us if we say that we will not vote for a liberal Republican. So, yes the stakes are high but I think the ultimate damage is worse if McCain is elected than if Hillary or Obama is elected.

"The GOP majority has spoken, and my issue is now with that party. "

I don't understand what you mean by "GOP majority". Do you mean leaders of the RNC or the electorate? In general, I agree with your sentiment. We Conservatives got JM shoved up our collective arse, with no electoral input by at least 95% of the US Republican/Conservative electorate. In fact, many of the early primary states elections allowed independants and CROSSOVER DIMS. And by then, it was over, a done deal, ship it. Ninety-five percent of our electorate had no say.

How do you know that anti-McCain FReepers on this thread aren't and won't be doing what they can do get a conservative Congress elected.

Tho one can only do so much when you have the RNC and Bush pushing establishment RINO Republicans over conservatives. Don't expect that to change with McBush at the top of the ticket.

Sorry, all of my “Just say NO” threads stand, and many more in the series to follow during this campaign season.. a lot can happen between now and November.. for now I still say “Just say No to John McCain”... we have a LONG way to go before the General election... we DO NOT need to settle for McCain this early in the game.. I suggest we focus on putting conservatives in congress !!

“elections allowed independants and CROSSOVER DIMS. And by then, it was over, a done deal, ship it. Ninety-five percent of our electorate had no say.”

Here in lays our biggest problem. Which seems to be over looked by the infighting. Laws need to be changed as soon as possible to prevent a repeat. (I am one of the 95% that didn’t get my vote heard since the primary hasn’t happened yet in my state.)

We may not have the same end voting plan on this election but I hope All conservatives will join together and fight for our right to our Freedoms.
