A blessed Easter to you, Alas, and to all.

What with Church, family gatherings and a roster of yucky guests, I predict a rather short thread today.

One of my brunch offerings is a pasta with tomatoes, spinach and feta. The pasta is campanelle and looks like little Easter lilies.

Cedric, I am not trying to turn this into a recipe thread.

In the chat area today. Does anyone think Gov Richardson will touch this one? My bet is NO way.

Pope Benedict is in Moscow, the Jewish holiday of Purim is celebrated this week, and it is the earliest Easter possible ---- Lent just flew by! ---

It does not look like religion will be mentioned on a Sunday "news" show.

Judaism 101:

Purim is one of the most joyous and fun holidays on the Jewish calendar. It commemorates a time when the Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination.

The story of Purim is told in the Biblical book of Esther. The heroes of the story are Esther, a beautiful young Jewish woman living in Persia, and her cousin Mordecai, who raised her as if she were his daughter. Esther was taken to the house of Ahasuerus, King of Persia, to become part of his harem. King Ahasuerus loved Esther more than his other women and made Esther queen, but the king did not know that Esther was a Jew, because Mordecai told her not to reveal her identity.

Easter blessings!

Did Timmy Russert have to scrap his Sunday show when it was revealed that the CEO of "Passport" Analysis Corp. is an Obama advisor?

Morning AB, All...Happy Easter.

Went to Easter Vigil last night. Never did such a thing, perhaps I should be ashamed.

Candles, church in dark, bishop presiding.

Came home and watched Easter Vigil again on EWTN at the Bascillica in DC, such was my fascination.

Jesus Christ is risen today...hallelujah! Easter blessings to you all! Forget bonnets, we are putting on our Easter furs today in the Big Apple.

According to my guide, Chrissy Matthews will be addressing (breathlessly, I am sure) the issue of Rev. Wright this morning...I may tune in to avoid Bill R. (or Fu Manchu as Rush calls him). Eli Manning was on Fox and Friends this morning...I think it was a taped segment. The Presidential Seal was in the background. Quite a positive guy! The Ollie North special is on at 8 p.m. tonight, by the way.

I went to the Vigil Mass last night and while I was sitting in the dark was thinking--why don't they ever show those old classic films about Jesus anymore? I know they had the Ten Commandments last night, but you'd think someone would put on Zeffirelli's Jesus of Nazareth or The Greatest Story Ever Told...I remember them so fondly from when I was growing up. But then I also remember singing the Marines' Hymn in music class and Catholic hymns in choir at my public school. Oh, those were the days!

eyes.”

The big defense now for the libs seems to be that ‘ Black yutes have a different experience that Caucasian yutes have’.

[What a crock. That could be said based on heritage, geography, and numerous other factors. If they hold to that defense, they have to admit that 50 years of desegregation is a failure.]

I’m glad to see that Chris Wallace has Rendell and Richardson on at the same time. I was not looking forward to seeing them on the program back-to-back. This arrangement is much more pleasant.

Did I hear Peggy Noonan right? On Meet the Press she alleged Pastor Wright's audience was quiet and bored. I saw these videos. The cheers and emotion were obvious. On one occasion a least, a parishioner got up and touched pastor Wrignt with reverence.

This is going to be a long election if we cannot even agree on the facts.

Watch bot FNS and MTP this morning...Juan Williams have Obama nailed, he is probably the only black commentator who got the issue right - it is not guilt by association, it is not about racial relationship in this country but rather it is the judgement on why Obama is taking his children to this church, staying in this church for 20 yrs...voters are asked to vote for Obama because of his “better judgement” but what kind of judgement of he exercised in his 20 yrs sitting in the pews of Wright’s church.

On MTP, I get the sense the PeggyN is drifting towards Obama, she’s one of the writers I really like and will be very saddened if she get caught by the Obama the Messiah web.

The most interesting observation though is from Chuck Todd, he said the “D-day” for the dems will be early May - the Indiana, North Carolina primaries...If Clinton sweeps both Obama will be in big trouble...if Obama wins both (very unlikely because Indiana), Clinton will be out...so all eyes on the NC primary...for operation Chaos - I think NC will be one place to watch..unaffilated voters are allowed to vote there and registerations are ongoing and last till April 11..

Even if Clinton sweeps both Indiana and NC, she will never catch Obama with pledged delegates..but she will get enough ammunition for the Superdelegates to get real nervous wrt Obama...and Obama is a more beatable candidate now vs McCain than he was just 10 days ago...so it is an interesting situation here...the dems will split the party if the SuperDs go for Clinton, but the longer the Clintons hang on and beat the crap out of Obama in the primaries, the more likely Obama would make a mistake, mispoke or whatever, and become just another politician - no longer the Messiah like...and seriously if IN and NC goes for Clinton and Obama couldn’t win more than a third of the white votes, you could count on the media to talk about the Wright issue again...and it really doesn’t take much to have this Wright issue be a permanent damaging factor to Obama in the general election.
