Barack Obama is preparing to deliver a major address Tuesday on race, politics and unifying the country after being hounded by questions about his relationship to a pastor whose sermons have been laced with anti-American invective.
In a speech whose religious significance could compare to one given in December by former GOP presidential hopeful and Mormon Mitt Romney, Obama may be forced to explain the philosophy of the 8,000-strong Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where the Democratic presidential candidate has been a congregant for 20 years.
In announcing the morning address, to be delivered in Philadelphia, Obama would not say specifically what he will discuss, but suggested he wants to cool down the atmosphere after incendiary remarks by his pastor, retired Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., blanketed the airwaves over the past week.

JUAN WILLIAMS: Of course, it says something about him. He joined this church, really, to solidify his credentials as authentically black and authentically a part of that South Side Chicago community, because it’s the largest church there and Reverend Wright is well known not only in Chicago, but nationally, and he’s known for making these outlandish comments. It’s very key here that, unlike the notion that Barack Obama wants to advance that he didn’t — or wasn’t aware of it, I find that unbelievable, or that this is a crazy uncle speaking out, he — he — this is a man who he chose to be associated with. It’s not a family member. He chose to be associated with Reverend Wright and saw advantage in it. It speaks to his character and it speaks to the judgment, which is the basis on which Barack Obama has been running this campaign.

Three black talking heads on CNN. “More powerful white Americans” Blacks have a junior role. Even Whites who think they are unbiased, need to realize the complications...the problems which are out there.
And based on that bold prognostication -- which is shared by nobody else in the political world -- Free Republic needs to stand down and lay off The Blessed Hussein until you say otherwise. Is that it, pretty much?
The danger Obama and his spinners have with continuing to perpetuate the “Blacks use a different vocabulary than others” is that it implies the “others” are too stupid to understand Blacks.

I actually think it is a decent speech and will help. The media will love it. Obama will escape damaged, but not dead.
