Obama's Friday interview by Major Garrett, in which he describes his membership at Trinity United and his connection to Rev. Wright, has been called one of his worst ever. At the time, people were wondering what he could have been thinking, especially given the Democrats on-again-off-again boycott of Fox News.
Melanie Morgan says that as soon as it aired Garrett got an earful:
As I was waiting to go on-the-air, Major Garrett of Fox News was on stand-by to do further reporting on his excellent interview with BHO in which he simply asked a number of questions like: "Did Reverend Wright marry you? Did Reverend Wright baptize your children? How often did you attend church? Did you donate money to the church?"After that segment aired, Major Garrett's phone started buzzing. He received a call from Obama's campaign, and they were REAMING him over the report. From his end, I heard Garrett say "I have nothing to apologize for."
He repeated that several times, and he amplified by saying that he was merely asking questions that everyone wanted answers to.
That did NOT satisfy Obama's people, and Garrett flushed a couple of times while responding to the invective thrown his way.
Strategically, *I'm not sure why Obama would choose to go only to Fox News with this story, especially because I don't think that anyone ever believed this one would be confined to "conservative" media. So far it looks like every decision he's made about Wright has only made him look worse. Obama himself admits that "my judgment at the time [that he asked Wright to join his campaign] was that this was not as problematic as what I've seen over the last couple of days.
Genius.
Transcript of the interview is here. YouTube video is below the fold.

Good its about time so one tried to get a straight answer.
Obama was ill prepared and for the first couple minutes just kept answering “yes” to Garrett’s string of questions. Then Obama’s explanations were weak.
Britt Milquetoast Hume?
The interviewee didn't get a single inch if wiggle room, like interviewees are used to getting in the typical puff piece on other networks. The interviewee had only to answer simple direct questions put in a simple direct way. THAT would keep ALL public officials honest! When did we EVER get into the chatty and chummy interviews that produce no information and are really just an opportunity for two idiots with over sized egos to see themselves all over the screen?
I saw the interview while it was being broadcast. The questions were “good” but the most important questions were not asked:
“Mr. Obama, do you really expect the American voting public to believe that in the 20 years that you attended that church that not one time did you hear the anti-America comments?”
“Do you really believe that the American voting public is so gullible and stupid to believe that?”
Re: Faux News.....
I have heard others on FR rave about Faux News. I suppose I must be further to the right than the other posters are. I find Faux News to be just as leftist as some of the MSM.
As soon as they agree to “interview” the likes of sHrillary, BJ Klintoon, “Shakedown” Jackson, “Race Pimp” Sharpton and now Barry, then they are immediately giving them credibility.
They should all be ignored by Faux News. “Fair and balanced” is a figment of their imagination designed to lure unthinking people into believing that Faux News is “conservative.”
I missed it... Did Major swoon at Obama’s magical melodious eloquence?
which is exactly what the DBM questioners like Tim Russert always act like when interviewing conservatives, sometimes asking the same question five times....questions like "Don't you want to apologize." It's about time the tables were turned.
I’m waiting with popcorn kernels at the ready for some poor sumbitch in the media using the term Obama’s tar-baby.
Ha!....thanks for posting this....
Goodbye Obama!....You lose!
He obviously can't handle even a creampuff pitch, much less a high-hard-one or a curveball.
Because Obama went on record with some answers that are easily check-out-able. Like that he had never heard the Good Rev’run make hateful, racist, black supremacist statements. Didn’t matter that it was boring, he was pinning him down like a bug in a bug collection.
I can only imagine the language of that post interview phone call from the Obama campaign.
The Great Sales Pitch From Obama
**********************EXCERPT*********************
recently found this long review of Obamas first book, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance. It was written a year ago by Steve Sailer and its a review of a book in which much is revealed on what makes Obama tick, and why he would be so dangerous as President of our country:
Why havent many grasped the books essence? First, Obamas elegant, carefully wrought prose style makes Dreams a frustratingly slow read, which may explain why the book was remaindered in 1995, and why so few of the many who have purchased it following his famous keynote address at the 2004 Democratic convention appear to have read much of it.
Second, the plot isnt that interesting: his first three decades are too lacking in incident to make a page-turning story. Obama has led a fairly pleasant existence, with most of its suffering and conflict taking place within his own head as he tries to turn himself into an authentic angry black man.
Third, there is the confusing contrast between the confident, suave master politician we see on television and the tormented narrator of Dreams, who is an updated Black Pride version of the old tragic mulatto stereotype found in Show Boat and Imitation of Life.
Which Obama is real?
Exactly! IIRC, I was watching the coverage after Ohio and Texas and Beckel was heavily promoting his "dream ticket" idea.
If not Hussein, how about Barack X.
If he wasn't a slave descendant, he was a slaver descendant.
