A tornado has been reported in downtown Atlanta...some injuries.
Wow. I stayed in downtown last week and I thought we were going to get hit then.
Whitey’s chickens don’t roost in d’town Atlanta.
I’m on the north side of town about ten miles from the Georgia Dome. Lots of lightning, high winds, guess about 50 mph or so. We are in tornado season here. It lasts until about the end of April.
In the middle of the storm, I thought I heard a tornado, but it was a train.
And some dry white toast.
Yes.. Phone doesn’t work, but.. we got a text message from him. They’re in the Upper Deck, so.. they were close to where the noise was!
Noone was hurt, but a pipe ripped through the roof of the Georgia Dome.
Scared yes... injured, no!
Thanks... Now, if Kentucky wins, all will be fine! :-)
GA FReeper here...storm passed over us before hitting Fulton County....
all good here..
thanks for your concern....
prayers up for all those in harms way..
Only 50mph winds? Not bad. But then, I live in an area where wind storms are common in the spring and 50mph is considered “breezy.”
Are you getting any rain out of all this wind and lightning? If so, please send some to us.
Thank God! I can just imagine what you were going through until you heard from him!
One hit while I was working in 1989. I remember sitting at my desk with a glass front office. I saw the restaurant sign from down the street fly by and I heard the window creaking. Just as I ducked down under the desk, the huge window imploded. That was the closest I ever came to being so scared I almost wet myself.
Oh wow, they ARE confirming injuries? I just watched the local here and they said nothing.
Keep us posted. Nothing on the national media yet. You would think that CNN would be covering it from their own stupid headquarters in downtown Atlanta!
Watching The Weather Channel - another cell hitting Atlanta now.
LIVE Atlanta fire department transmissions and they have major structural damage in the city. They are preapring to do searches of collapsed buildings. They are now talking about a major collapse of a 5th floor of a building onto the 4th floor.
Well..... we were watching it all on TV... so, We were pretty sure he was OK.... Just freak to be watching it in real time...
Could have been much worse. But, I think he was in the safest place...
what counties?
did they say?
kids watching movie...don’t want to alarm them if I don’t have to
Weather channel now reporting the cell. May hit just south of downtown but looks almost as bad as the first one to hit Atlanta. Stay safe people.
The CNN building was apparently badly damaged.
