What do you think? Suggestions, comments, complaints?
Is there someway for me or you to fix this?
In the main forum, we cannot see which specific forum an article is posted in.
For instance, here is the way it looks on our “Pings” page.

Is it possible to add the forum “News/Activism” “Religion” (etc) to the articles posts in the main forum?
Yeah, it’s somewhat of a downside to the way I’m restructuring the site, but there will be no more forums per se, no single word to affix to an article. They will instead by replaced by the keyword system. Still trying to come up with a way to display a useful list of keywords under articles in the listing page. Some kind of weighted system, because we don’t need to see all 500 keywords some clown added to a thread, but we want to see something, and it should be relevant.
I’m working on it.
No complaints. Love the site.
The Forum designation helps when searching to see which Forum a new post should go in. If you search “teacher sex student” and you will see that moderators push most of them into Chat.
I have learned (the hard way) to do a quick search before posting every news story in the News Forum, instead of the Chat forum.
I’ve got that same bug McGruff.

Changes look OK - takes a little getting used to, bu livable.
Maybe it’s too early, but thought you might want to know that the site layout is seriously broken in IE 8 Beta 1, and in-page links, like the Top of Page link at the bottom of the latest posts doesn’t work unless I select the Emulate IE 7 button in 8.
Let me know if you need more specific info if you don’t have access to IE8.
Work for you now?
Can anyone tell how to get rid of the blue box on the right side that’s titled “Popular Keywords”? I have the dropdown set to Do Not Display, but it stays there.
I’m looking for the screen just to show the articles, no shortcuts. Probably the only one who wants that?
No, mine still looks like that. Glad it’s working for you now though.

How about a red NEW POSTS TO YOU at the top of each thread? Currently there is simply a PINGS button.
We have to go back to the main page to see if we have new posts to us. Or we can click on the PINGS button only to find out that we have none.
Just an idea.
I’m itching to rewrite the article display program, and that header is definitely going to change when I do. I’m juggling a couple other sub-projects so it will have to wait.
Thanks for the heads up. Just installed IE 8, yech! What has Microsoft broken now. :-( I’ll see what can be done about it, gonna have to sooner than later anyway.
:}
I keep getting Proxy Errors by the boatload. Mostly on my pinger. What’s up with that?
So far I just don’t like it at all. I much preferred to have my breaking news as the top column on the right hand side because I could take a quick look and find easily what I might be looking for.
Now I feel like I’m indiscriminately wading around in waters I’m unfamilar with.
Where is everything and how do I re-set my FR screen to the way it was?
A tab for State Message Board near the Forum / Comments / Pings tabs would be slick.
You might consider using a dark blue, perhaps #333399, perhaps bold, for stories not yet read. The gray font for viewed stories is excellent, BTW.
BIG, BIG request: An option to Right-Click any story in any sidebar and HIDE it from that sidebar would be REALLY slick—whether viewed or not. That would let us clean up our screens wonderfully.
Sorry John, I don’t like the search box. I prefer the old one.
