It is strange that some people are relearning this.
I learned this in high school back in the 60s.

further supporting the theory that humans first entered the Americas over a land bridge across the Bering Strait I wonder if anyone considered boats! The Bearing Straight Land Bridge idea is pretty preposterous if one thinks about what would be involved. (See e.g. Deloria's Red Earth, White Lies, which is a pretty good book despite some of the author's racial bitterness.)

I'm really confused by all this flood of "ancestry" findings. I'm currently learning the new American language (Mexican. I pick 'Espanol' at those self-checkout aisles), but then I realized that the American Indians really own my home, so I started learning Paiute. Then, just last week, I find out that the Mongols and Chinese really have a claim against my home because they found genetic ties between them and the American Indians. So I order the Mandarin Chinese CD from Rosetta Stone and all of a sudden I hear two days ago that we're all descended from Africans. OK, so I'm busy packing up my CD to exchange it for Swahili and - BAM! - I'm back to the northern Asian ancestry.
I tell ya', it's tough being non-indigenous!

Further proof that there is no such thing as a “Native American”. Even the Indians are immigrants to this land.

Of course there's a connection between the Yakut people and the Maya...the Maya inhabit the Yakutan Peninsula.
James Taranto's column for the WSJ Online today has a funny headline involving "Kennewick Man."
