OK, trying really freekin’ hard to be nice here...how the hell do you turn your computer on?????
?
I have a better idea. I click on EBay place an ad for an iMac, hope someone buys it and then go out and buy a PC that works with all my software, doesn’t lock up three times in 4 month, has full functionality with my 3 year old HP printer(won’t scan), allows me to connect my weather station for downloads to the computer, allows me to use my music services.....
Blu, Red doesn't know that the eject removable media key doubles as the power key and can be used to put the computer to sleep or shut it down... Press Opt-Cmd-Eject it will sleep... hold them down it will shut down.
Easier still is pressing and holding the power on button for 10 seconds.
Maybe so, but Macs are better. I am in the process of building a PC from scratch, piece by gosh-darned, m-effing piece, and I am only continuing to do it because I consider it such a challenge, and now, a hobby; I want to be able to say I can build a PC, as well as use one. I should have bought a top of the line Mac mini or a basic Mac Pro.
And while there's everything wrong with being a liberal and a snob, there's nothing wrong with teeth whitening!
Never mind. Were I in the position to do so, I would just take your computer away. You’d be a lot happier. But, as a last hint, might I suggest you RTFM? or at least click on that cool little menu item “Help”? Or better yet, let your wife post here. You don’t want to learn. Class dismissed.
At least one, Mac owner has been identified as th godfather of the Conservative movement, and the number one radio talk show host in the history of the free world.
LOL!
Hey thanks, blu. I’m really surprised to have rec’d that response. Don’t think any FReeper deserves one such as this.
Mac users are part of the anointed, and they see themselves as unappreciated fire bringers. That said, I just smile and let them carry on about racist hurricanes and what have you. They seem to be humorous, intelligent if ignorant, and well mannered.
My apologies... but after years of hearing this canard from NON-Mac users who haven't a clue, I erroneously lumped you in with them. Sorry.
To turn on your double clicking... under the Apple menu, select System Preferences. That will bring up a window with the controls for the Mac. Select "Keyboard and Mouse" and select the "Mouse" tab. This will allow you to configure your mouse as you prefer.
If you have a Macbook, you can set your track pad to left click with a single finger and right click with two fingers on the pad. Two fingers and drag scrolls.
Again, my apologies. I maintain the Mac Ping list on FreeRepublic. The threads are good places to get answers to questions... especially ones that don't come across as confrontational. Would you like to be included with the other 295 members? Let me know in a Freemail.
Does anybody sell a brain defragging program??? I am finding I need one.
Sorry... I guess I'm just incorrigible... Oh, wait, that's taken...
;^)>
Hey, if I were a snob, I’d look down from my high horse on people who post hateful BS like this on FR.
OTOH, all the high horses are taken by the Mac-haters, Apple-haters, and those who hate people who use Apple products.

I’m sorry. I was referring to the post that started all this; not yours.
PC users should stop attacking us and suffer with that dreary OS they're chained to.
Conservatives can use Macs too ya know.
i don’t think that Gates actually visited but engineers from MS did visit Xerox Parc around the same time as Apple.
Alrighty then — forgiven.
:)
No really! Water IS wet! :D
It's the fastest thing possible in a desktop, and Dell's equivalent workstation (Precision T7400) costs a thousand dollars (20%) more. I'd by pretty content, too.
