Biblical hero Joseph 'was really a Muslim' Palestinians make astonishing claim, deny they'll help restore burned tomb

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Building at Joseph's Tomb site after Palestinian Authority took control in 2000 .

In the wake of an attempt by Palestinians to burn down Joseph's Tomb – Judaism's third holiest site – Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction issued a statement denying it will help restore the shrine, referring to both the shrine and the biblical patriarch as "Muslim."

"Pay no attention to the rumors that we will work with Israel to restore the burial site of the holy Muslim Joseph," said the statement, issued from Nablus, the biblical city of Shechem. "We are going to guard this holy Muslim site."

Joseph's Tomb is the believed burial place of the son of Jacob who was sold by his brothers into slavery and later became viceroy of Egypt.

That has many interpretations, but ruddy also means healthy complexion. I don't think it means red hair -- red hair is primarily Western Celtic and the Judeans were Semites, David would resemble the other Middle Easterners of his day and would like like modern day Arabs/Egyptians/Lebanese

As Larry the Cable Guy says, the Catholics have Jesus looking like the Drummer from Foghat. Is anything Jesus would have had wooly close crop hair, brown eyes, and olive colored skin.

Maybe Mo' slept at a HolyDay Inn Jr and thought he was related to Joseph. BTW, speaking of David the redhead, did you know Mo' also dyed his head red?

And that's another point against David being a red-head. The "dye" that is used is henna a dye used even now in modern day india and the middle east to create mehndi patterns

Dying your hair with Mehndi covers the gray and also cools the head -- a good idea for a hot climate.

So, while Islam is a counterfeit, the point you bring up is not correct as the henna dye is more a cultural thing than anything -- it's been used, to quote "Henna has been used to adorn young women’s bodies as part of social and holiday celebrations since the late Bronze Age in the eastern Mediterranean. The earliest text mentioning henna in the context of marriage and fertility celebrations comes from the Ugaritic legend of Baal and Anath [13], which has references to women marking themselves with henna in preparation to meet their husbands, and Anath adorning herself with henna to celebrate a victory over the enemies of Baal. Wall paintings excavated at Akrotiri (dating prior to the eruption of Thera in 1680 BCE) show women with markings consistent with henna on their nails, palms and soles, in a tableau consistent with the henna bridal description from Ugarit [14] "

the Apostolic Church consists of all Churches founded through the Apostles of Christ. This includes the Assyrian Church, the Oriental Churches (Ethiopian, Coptic, Syrian), the Orthodox (Russian, Greek etc.), the Catholic (Roman, Maronite, Syro-malabar, Syro-Malankar, Chaldean/Iraqi etc.)

Those groups you talk about that are not apostolic were heresies like the Gnostics (Albigensians, CAthars, Bogomils, etc) who believed that Yhwh was a demiurge and not the true God), or Arians who believed that Christ was just a man -- their legacy includes Islamic thought.

Yes, I stand corrected if that is the impression I gave that Muslim is anything other than a religion

well, it's not your fault, the Muslims keep invoking anti-ethnic laws to cover their intents. I'd hesitate to call Islam a religion though, it's a cult (Muslims are followers of Islam)

Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist was a full blood Levite (required by law) else her husband could not have been a priest. Mary was related to Elizabeth making her part Levite from her mother's

Interesting claim you make about David, given what is Written describing David.

ISamuel 16:11 And Samuel said unto Jesse, “Are here all thy children?” And he said, “There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the *sheep*.” And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.”

verse 12 And he sent, and brought him in, Now he was *RUDDY*,

(this is the Hebrew Strong’s number 132: ad-mo-nee’, or (fully) from H119 (which means - *to show blood (in the face, i.e. flush or turn rosy: -be (dyed, made) red (ruddy) cont’d 132 reddish (of the hair or the complexion): - red ruddy.

and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him: for this is he.”

yes, maybe that’s why Iraqis are antagonistic towards Israel — since they would have some part blood from the 10 lost tribes, so kind of a fraternal jealousy

Well, when you are rabble without a country or a history that you can talk about, I guess you have to grab on to what ever you can. Even if you are an Arab and you are grabbing on to a Jew.

The descendants of Ishmael son of Abraham would be DNA connected to all twelve tribes of Israel. The 'law' was the first born son would receive a 'double' blessing, now that would cause jealousy in any family if someone other than the 'first born' received the double blessing.

Say like Jacob/Israel and Esau. They were twins, yet Esau was born first and he sold his birthright for a bowl of *RED* pottage (Genesis 25:29-34) and then Jacob/Israel received the blessing (Genesis 27:27-29)..

It reads... 27 And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, "See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:

28 Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:

29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee; cursed be every on that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.

Interesting to look at this world today and analyze how this would be view in today's world.

A priest(kohen) may actually marry any pure daughter of Israel(any tribe) and does not have to marry a Levite.

How then would it be possible for the Levitical priesthood to have been passed from generation to generation? and Are you saying that Elizabeth was not of the tribe of Levi? Even in Ezra and Nehemiah's time coming back to Jerusalem they had to send back for bloodline priests as most anybody had been allowed to do that work.

Yep, typical rewriting of history by the WCC (RCC) for its own purposes.

Anything outside of the Roman Catholic Church, excuse me, Western Christian Church, is, to the WCC (RCC) heretical. That is always the claim made. It is a way the WCC(RCC) tries to protect its position.

Not all Christian churches had all their ducks in a row, and there are a few that had some strange or awkward views about some things. Nevertheless, I am sure that the WCC (RCC) would call ANY church heretical for not nuckling under and yielding to the unbiblical authority of the little religious king in the vatican.

“WERE IT NOT THAT THE BAPTISTS HAVE BEEN GRIEVOUSLY TORMENTED AND CUT OFF WITH THE KNIFE DURING THE PAST TWELVE HUNDRED YEARS, THEY WOULD SWORM IN GREATER NUMBERS THAN ALL THE REFORMERS.” (Hosius, Letters, Apud Opera, pp. 112, 113) Roman Catholic Cardinal Hosius, 1524, President of the Council of Trent.

Really, so do you think that Gnostic or ARian belief is not heretical?

And you bring up that old Canard that Baptists are anything more than a split from the first Protestant groups -- the Baptists had their beliefs coming from Peter Chelcicky, a 15th century Bohemian, or John Huss (a 14th century Protestant). Baptists didnt' exist before these events and any concept of that is akin to Muslims saying that joseph was a muslim

So how does the color hair dye somebody else uses, disprove or imply David wasn’t ruddy?

The word ruddy, as you point out yourself, can mean a number of things -- I take it to mean a healthy, red/rosy-cheeked skin denoting an active person. you take it to mean red-hair. To address the latter I don't believe it to mean a red-head (like an Irish man) in the sense that David had Celtic roots or that he had a natural red hair. If there is any connotation to suggest that David had red hair, it would be logical to suppose that David used Henna. Henna was in general use throughout the ancient middle-east, even yes, even in Israel. It's not too far-fetched to presume David may have used such stuff -- after all he use myrrh and Frankinsence which came from Saba.
