Limbaugh and Hannity can no longer be trusted.
ChristianPatriot.com ^ | Feb 13, 08 | Rev Bob Celeste

Posted on 02/14/2008 4:44:19 AM PST by SLB

John 15:18-25 Wednesday, February 13th, in the year of our Lord 2008 First let me say that I am not happy that I have been put in a position where I have to interrupt the series on the Gospel of John. But, what Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other talking head pundits have done this year is not only beneath contempt and disgust but requires a Scriptural response as well. They have, in my humble opinion, proven who it is that they serve, and it is not the God of truth, but the father of all liars.

There was a time when one could turn the dial to Rush Limbaugh and/or Sean Hannity and expect to hear the truth. There was a time when listening to either got you an honest evaluation of individuals and especially candidates. That has changed, as both have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that they can and will lie to prevent a true servant of Christ from occupying the oval office.

While I am disappointed in both of these legends in their own minds, I am especially upset at and disappointed in Rush Limbaugh. I would not have believed that he would sink to the level of vicious lies coming out of his mouth, making Romney (one of the most liberal governors in the history of the most liberal state of Massachusetts) a conservative, while at the same time doing everything in his power to paint Conservative Christian Pastor Mike Huckabee as a liberal. From Sean Hannity and others, I am disappointed, but not all that surprised. But in Rush, it goes past just disappointment. It goes to having to re-evaluate my thinking about his honesty over the years. With Rush it is more than simple disappointment, it borders on disgust. I always expected more of him, and I have been proven, by him, to be wrong in my high estimation of him and his honesty.

If I were talking to Pastor Mike Huckabee this morning, I would remind him of what Jesus warned us about in John 15:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, ‘The servant is not greater than his Lord.’ Since they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they had kept My saying, they would keep yours also.

But all these things will they do unto you for My name's sake, because they know not Him that sent Me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no covering for their sin. He that hates Me hates My Father also.

If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both Me and My Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE. (John 15:18-25 ACP/KJV)

Those who serve satan hate Pastor Huckabee because they hate Christ. Had they never read or even claimed to read the word of God, they would be blameless, but since they claim to be pro-life Christian conservatives who have read the word of God, their sin lies at their door and within their hearts.

But, I would continue and remind Pastor Huckabee of this passage as well:

And He (God) said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son.

And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham (age 99) and Sarah (age 89) were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?’

Is any thing too hard for the LORD?

At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son! (Genesis 18:10-14 ACP/KJV)

Then I would ask Pastor Mike; “Reverend Mike, which do you think it would be harder for God to do, make you President or cause an 89 year old woman to not only give birth to a perfectly happy, healthy baby boy, but breast feed him and cause her to live till he was 37 years old?”

To all of you who are getting a bit disappointed and down at the mouth, let me remind you of how God likes to fight political wars.

Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley. And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against Me, saying, “Mine own hand hath saved me.” Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, “Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead.”

And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

So he(Gideon) brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

And he(Gideon) divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers. And he said unto them, “Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do. When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.”

So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, “The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.”

And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath. (Judges 7:1-7 and 16-22 ACP/KJV)

Mike, If I’m right, you still have too many working for you and not enough against you for God to deliver the presidency into your hands. You still have to many Bob Celestes and not enough Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys. For I do still believe that God is going to cause this election in November to be between you, a servant of the most High God and whichever of the two servants of satan that the democrats choose to run against you. I believe that this fight between you and McCain is nothing more than a warm up for the big fight of good against pure evil in November.

The Lord be with you my brother and may He give courage and strength to the men around you, let they, you, and I obey the command of the Lord in Job 40:7a. “Gird up thy loins now like a man”

And now, God willing I can get back to the Gospel of John.

And Lord, please let it be with those who attack our brother Mike as they try to make it be to our brother Mike. In the name of the Lord Christ Jesus I pray. Amen.

That is my strong suspicion based on Huck’s campaigning in Massachusetts the Saturday before Super Tuesday. He tag teamed with McCain in a state he had no chance of winning. It was about beating up on Romney in his home state.

Pretty interesting now isn't it that preacher BoB does not seem to express interest that preacher Huckabee teamed up with a guy who has been planted upon US with Soros dollars. Seems to me Huckabee is willing to ignore the TAKING of the first amendment for all and give to one with the most dollars.

Paster, I didn’t have time to look it up. Does John 15:18-25 say “Vote for Huckabee”?

You got that right! We had a conservative, a lifelong conservative. Duncan Hunter.

The GOP showed it isn’t about conservatism anymore, if it ever was.

Well, as a pretty fundamental Christian who was in Huckabee's camp before this just because he is a pastor, I have to reevaluate when his followers start showing this level of goofy dedication. Next, you can EXPECT this kind of THING to lead to INAPPROPRIATE CAPS and TOO MANY damn EXCLAIMATION POINTS!!!!!!!!!

Huckster will do and say anything to glom onto power. Even a veep or cabinet position at this point.

Listen to the "real" Huckster, back before his politically motivated 180* turn on the illegal alien invasion:

Huckabee promotes 'open door' policy at LULAC convention

"Pretty soon, Southern white guys like me may be in the minority," Huckabee said jokingly as the crowd roared in laughter.

Thursday, Jun 30, 2005

By Wesley Brown

Arkansas News Bureau

LITTLE ROCK - In a impassioned speech before hundreds of influential Hispanic civil rights leaders from across the nation, Gov. Mike Huckabee told a captive audience Wednesday that America is great because it has always opened it doors up to people seeking a better way of life.

"I would hope that no matter who we are, or where we are from, that America should always be a place that opens its arms, opens it heart, opens its spirit to people who come because they want the best for their families ...," Huckabee said as the largely Hispanic audience gave him a standing ovation.

Huckabee was the keynote speaker, along with Tyson Foods Inc. Chairman and CEO John Tyson, at a noon luncheon of the League of United Latin American Citizens, which is holding its 76th annual convention in Little Rock.

About 10,000 political, community and business leaders, along with exhibitors and speakers are in Little Rock attending the convention at the Statehouse Convention Center. The convention started Monday and runs through Saturday.

Although he never actually talked about the U.S. or Arkansas immigration policy, Huckabee made it very clear where he stood on the issue. In his opening remarks, he said the nation will need to address the concerns of the Hispanic community because of its growing influence and population base.

"Pretty soon, Southern white guys like me may be in the minority," Huckabee said jokingly as the crowd roared in laughter.

He told the LULAC delegates that their presence in the state's capital city was very important because Arkansas has one of the fastest growing Hispanic populations in the nation. "Your gathering is so very significant for our state," Huckabee said. "We are delighted to have you."

Despite several light moments, Huckabee did not stray away from several controversial issues that made him a target of criticism during the recently ended 85th General Assembly. He said Arkansas needs to make the transition from a traditional Southern state to one that recognizes and cherishes diversity "in culture, in language and in population."

"This is an issue that is going to require extraordinary efforts on both sides of the border, particularly those coming from Mexico," Huckabee said of verifying the status of illegal aliens. "But I am confident that our government will recognize that we should accommodate people who wish to provide the best opportunities for their families (and) employers so that we can make sure our economy has the necessary work force."

During the legislation session, Huckabee criticized an immigration bill by Republican senators Jim Holt of Springdale and Denny Altes of Fort Smith as un-Christian, un-American, irresponsible and anti-life. Senate Bill 206, which died in the Senate, would have required proof of citizenship to register to vote and also force state agencies to report suspected cases of people living in the country illegally. Holt, R-Springdale, replied later to Huckabee's comments that Christian charity does not include turning a blind eye to lawbreaking.

Legality of Huckabee's Mexican consulate deal questioned

Critics say Arkansas citizens, businesses financed office to draw illegal workers

November 1, 2007 - By Jerome R. Corsi - WorldNetDaily.com

Financial inducements arranged by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee to establish a Mexican consular office in Little Rock may have violated state law, according to an Arkansas attorney. As WND reported yesterday, critics in Arkansas charge Huckabee, who lately has enjoyed a surge in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, worked with some of the state's most prominent and politically powerful businesses to establish the consulate as a magnet for drawing illegal immigrants to the state to accept low-paying jobs. Huckabee, in an interview with WND, strongly denied the allegations.

Arkansas attorney Chip Sexton provided WND a written legal brief arguing the state government's sublease to Mexico of office space for the consulate was illegal under Arkansas law. Sexton contended the deal raised questions about the appropriateness of private citizens and corporations in Arkansas providing financial incentives for the government of Mexico to locate a consulate office in Little Rock.

"This arrangement to bring a Mexican consulate to Little Rock and the manner in which it occurred amounts to a 'consul-gate,'" Sexton told WND. "I'm an Arkansas citizen, why doesn't the state lease me some property and furniture for $1 per year?"

Robert Trevino, commissioner of Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, told WND he and Huckabee helped arrange state and private financial support to induce Mexico to establish the consulate as a business development "quid pro quo."

Trevino signed on July 7, 2006, a "Facilities Use Agreement" with Mexican consular officials to rent state government office space for $1 a year on the second floor of the Arkansas Rehabilitation Services building at 26 Corporate Hills in Little Rock. Sexton points to Arkansas law, which appears to prohibit state agencies, including Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, from sub-leasing government space.

Ark. Code Ann. § 22-2-114(C)(i) provides: "After July 1, 1975, no state agency shall enter into or renew or otherwise negotiate a lease between itself as lessor or lessee and a nongovernmental or other government lessor or lessee."

"Even more offensive, there was nothing in the lease or other agreements that would have prevented the Mexican consulate from providing legal assistance to illegal aliens," Sexton told WND. "We have information that the Mexican consulate operating out of the Arkansas Rehabilitation Facility was providing legal assistance even to Mexican illegal aliens who were accused of committing violent crimes in Arkansas."

Trevino emphasized: "It never was our intent to get involved in the immigration issue or to aid illegal immigration, that's a federal issue. Our interest and emphasis was and is strictly business development." He pointed to the many Arkansas companies, including Wal-Mart and Tyson Foods, that "do a good deal of business in Mexico," "So the more we can facilitate better trade with that country for our companies located here in Arkansas, we have a duty to do that as officials," he said.

Arkansas attorney Sexton disagreed, insisting, "This whole scheme to get a Mexican consulate to locate in Little Rock appears to be nothing more than a veiled invitation for illegal immigrants to come to Arkansas to work for the Arkansas corporations who want cheap labor. The package is enhanced by social welfare benefits provided by the state of Arkansas and financing assistance to support the Mexican consulate's presence in the state," Sexton said.

Trevino confirmed he was state director of the League of United Latin American Citizens, also known as LULAC, an activist group strongly advocating for rights of Hispanic immigrants in the U.S., when on Oct. 3, 2003, he accompanied Huckabee in a state airplane to visit Fox in Mexico. In 2003, Trevino was Huckabee's economic development policy adviser. In October 2005, Trevino was appointed by Huckabee to his current position as commissioner of Arkansas Rehabilitation Services.

The Very Reverend Pastor Bob would have been better served staying in John where he clearly needs to be than wandering about in a (political) wilderness he has no ability to understand.
Pastor Bob’s tyrade demonstrates the rationale for those who demand the seperation of church and state.
Self appointed religious leaders who claim special insight about the moral disposition of political commentators make fools of themselves and a travesty of scripture.

Our primary is in May, it would be nice to have a voice. This Rev. has no business picking on talk show hosts. They are not responsible for how people choose to vote. Talk show hosts do not work for political parties and owe the candidates nothing.
