Time to Stop griping about McCain and start working to defeat the 'Rats
2/13/08 | Self

Posted on 02/13/2008 3:08:13 PM PST by Blood of Tyrants

Face it. It is all but inevitable that McCain win the race for the GOP presidential nominee. Get over it. McCain will be the GOP nominee.

The time for divisive talk about how much you hate McCain for screwing the conservatives and how he is a RINO and his other faults is over. WE are doing NO ONE any good by continuing to publicly air our grievances about him. I know, I have done my share. I don't like him one bit, but he will be a far better president than either of the two 'Rats.

With the atmosphere as anti-McCain as it is, it would not be hard for a liberal posing as another McCain hater to sneak in and keep throwing rocks at that hornet's nest. So let's tone down the rhetoric and the vitriol aimed at him and TRY to find a common ground with him.

McCain, we can hope to influence and guide. Obama and Hitlery will absolutely NOT listen or compromise on any conservative issue.

We know that there is absolutely no way that the 'Rats will make the Bust tax cuts permanent if there is a 'Rat in the WH.

We KNOW that any Supreme Court judge who retires or dies will immediately be replaces with a pro-abortion, anti-gun, anti-freedom liberal; probably from the 9th Circus.

We KNOW that there will be nothing but pure amnesty and absolutely no border enforcement if a 'Rat gets the WH. The 'Rats NEED poor, uneducated, miserable people to advance their socialist agenda.

It is time to stop bickering and hating McCain and stop the postings about how you will sit home and watch Obama or Hitlery become the next president. That is worse than stupidity. It is admitting defeat and quitting.

And I for one will not give up and pout at my home on election day.

So here it is:

McCAIN FOR PRESIDENT!

“Defeating the Rats includes defeating McCain!”

Semper Fi or not, some folks ‘round here just don’t have a clue.

“Barack is already trying to hang “We could be in Iraq for 100 yrs” around Mad John’s neck”

As a point of comparison, if Roosevelt had gone before the American people in 1941, saying that American boys would have to stay in Germany for 65 years, would Americans so willingly have jumped in line behind him?

We may very well BE in Iraq and the Middle East 100 years from now, still occupying, still fighting. The struggle with Islam has gone on for 1400 years so far, and it’s not over yet. Islam is stronger throughout the world than it ever has been before, the past history of Europe notwithstanding. It will take 75 to 100 years to defeat it, at least - IF it can be defeated at all. I have my doubts, especially after reading some of the postings here from folks I _thought_ represented freedom’s best defense.

McCain spoke the truth. The UNvarnished truth, perhaps, but the truth nonetheless.

“The EASY thing to do is vote for McCain. It’s also the equivalent of a finger in the dike.”

Hmmm.. Fairly good analogy. But you left something off.

When all you’ve got is a finger to stick in the dike, that’s all you’ve got. If the use of your finger works until real repairs can be made, and if that alone keeps the dike from breaking, well, so be it.

A McCain presidency - particulary if it’s a one-termer - will be a “holding action” for conservatives in general and for Republicans in particular.

Of course, conservative ideas and policies probably won’t be advanced (as in “real repairs” being made above). BUT - the alternative could become the near- or full collapse of the dike, IF we don’t at least keep a finger in it.

Something to consider, in view of your comment....

And some dikes/parties reach a point where repair is no longer feasible. You evacuate the area and rebuild. ;-)

Thanks for the comment. I appreciate the civil dialog, as opposed to the other diatribe I've received when I say I won't vote for McCain.

So true! McCain would be such a dike!

Yea right, principles are only relative. McCain is a conservative and I have seen the light. Besides it pragmatic and I need to go along to get along. 10,000 Mexicans a day invading my beloved country is no big deal. A tax to save the world from globalloney warming is only my duty as a good comrade. Freedom of speech is an old notion. Sorry, that Kool-Aid tastes a bit rancid to me.

Though Obama and Hillary are running on their big government, national health-care, economic issues and taxing the *rich (*democrat code-word for anybody with a full-time job)

After their victory (especially if Obama is the one that wins the White House they will do as they did in 2006 and claim their victory was a national referendum on the war in Iraq and the War against Islamofascists.

Me, I still think it’s the major issue of our time and there is only one of the three that I trust most to fight this war. He was last on my list for domestic issues but what good are domestic issues if we lose the WOT and Sharia law becomes the law of the land?

I say vote for a war president and fill the seats of Congress with real conservatives. It’s not like we have nothing to focus on in Congress. We’ve got a lot of work to do. Let’s get started!

"What if McCain picked an outstanding conservative....top notch as his VP. Would you all still say no?"

Let's hope he does and that conservative knows a lot about economics. Any ideas who that may be?

We've got a lot of work to do in Congress. We need to seat more conservatives. That's a problem we face and must focus on as well.

Why are you giving McCain the pass and making this problem our fault? For at least a few, McCain still has options to make the case for greater support - that is, if he cares.

Then get used to saying “President Clinton” or “President Obama” and forget about overturning Roe vs Wade for at least 30 more years.

Forget about eliminating the death taxes.

Forget about our national security.

Forget that over 3000 died to free Iraq as it decends back into an Al Queda stronghold and watch Iran develop long range nuclear missiles with a ‘Rat president who would rather kiss their asses than confront them.

Forget about making the Bush tax cuts permanent and get ready for a tax increase.

Forget about reforming government at any level.

Are your pride and principles worth all that?

Just sit at home and pout that McCain isn’t the candidate you wanted or vote for a third party candidate that has ZERO chance to win. Better yet, go ahead and vote FOR the ‘Rats and go home and think, “THAT will show THEM”. Yes, it will show us. It will show us that you are pouty children who DESERVE a nanny government to watch over you.

Get over your hurt feelings or YOU will be responsible for the next ‘Rat president.

"Get over your hurt feelings or YOU will be responsible for the next ‘Rat president."

Talk about deluded. The republican party will be responsible for that. Beside McCain has already promised to reach across the aisle to accommodate his friends on the left. McCain reformation mean bringing repubs closer to the enemy not the contrary.

The PEOPLE selected McCain. If you can’t accept that, then get ready for 30 more years of legalized murder of the unborn because the ‘Rat president WILL appoint another Ginsburg to replace Stevens.

You ought to be ashamed that you would allow your bitter feelings to keep from voting for McCain.

You won’t find may senators that have a better rating from the American Conservative Union or a worse rating from the ACLU.

Not bitter, not ashamed. Do you really think McCain will reverse Roe Vs Wade? From what I hear only four senators had a lower conservative rating in the last few years. If my grandchildren have to grow up with English as their second language I don’t want to tell them I voted for the man who facilitated it.

Note to self: Only four REPUBLICAN senators had a lower conservative rating than McCain. I think they were Chaffee, Snowe and a couple other well known RINO’s.

1. My feelings aren't in the least bit hurt.

2. It's the DNC wannabes down at rino central that are responsible for shoving mcloon down our throats so they are the one responsible should a "rat" win the election.

3. The fear mongering and brow beating aren't going to work, I WILL NOT vote for a man who has actively pursued policies I find repugnant.

It was the PEOPLE who voted for McCain. It was our inability to unite behind a single conservative that allowed him to win. Don’t try to blame anyone else.

You deserve a ‘Rat president.
