Time to Stop griping about McCain and start working to defeat the 'Rats

Face it. It is all but inevitable that McCain win the race for the GOP presidential nominee. Get over it. McCain will be the GOP nominee.

The time for divisive talk about how much you hate McCain for screwing the conservatives and how he is a RINO and his other faults is over. WE are doing NO ONE any good by continuing to publicly air our grievances about him. I know, I have done my share. I don't like him one bit, but he will be a far better president than either of the two 'Rats.

With the atmosphere as anti-McCain as it is, it would not be hard for a liberal posing as another McCain hater to sneak in and keep throwing rocks at that hornet's nest. So let's tone down the rhetoric and the vitriol aimed at him and TRY to find a common ground with him.

McCain, we can hope to influence and guide. Obama and Hitlery will absolutely NOT listen or compromise on any conservative issue.

We know that there is absolutely no way that the 'Rats will make the Bust tax cuts permanent if there is a 'Rat in the WH.

We KNOW that any Supreme Court judge who retires or dies will immediately be replaces with a pro-abortion, anti-gun, anti-freedom liberal; probably from the 9th Circus.

We KNOW that there will be nothing but pure amnesty and absolutely no border enforcement if a 'Rat gets the WH. The 'Rats NEED poor, uneducated, miserable people to advance their socialist agenda.

It is time to stop bickering and hating McCain and stop the postings about how you will sit home and watch Obama or Hitlery become the next president. That is worse than stupidity. It is admitting defeat and quitting.

And I for one will not give up and pout at my home on election day.

So here it is:

McCAIN FOR PRESIDENT!

“Kennedy doesn’t get to appoint.”

Under a McCain administration, he would.

I may have been a bit blunt and course in my statement however voting for McCain is worse then getting Obama or Clinton.

Why?

Look at history

During Bush 41 the Dem's passed laws that made real estate greatly devalued along with the tax increases they but the country in a rescission, bush 41 signed the bill got the blame.

Clinton and the Dem congress had the economy in a down turn 9 largest tax increase in history) the 1994 congress (republicans) cut taxes, it helped the economy expand, Clinton got the credit for (the greatest economy in history)

Now the national unemployment is 4.5% give or take a tenth, and every city run by Democrats has at least a 6.5% unemployment rate and it is Bushes fault.

The Dem's are going to destroy the economy and they need to get the blame.

If McCain gets elected he is going to go along with the Dem's and the Republicans are going to get the blame again. We will not have a choice but McCain again or an even bolder left wing Democrat.

After the Dem's tear the country down, then we can elect a true conservative to fix the problems with low taxes and freedom, and the people will demand it. I say this because those of us how are conservative will be fine, because we are not dependent on the government or a union to get by. It will hurt some people short term, but in the long run it will be better for the country. I am in my mid 30's and I would rather suck it up now then pass it on to my kids.

Right now the people are like frogs in a pot of water turning the socialism up slowly and the will not know until all their freedoms are gone and it's too late. But if the socialism is thrown on the country all at once the people will notice and do something about it.

If you want me to rant on what I think will happen I will be happy to vent.

Because I keep picturing Hillary or Obama strutting along reviewing the troops. That is unacceptable.

We are at war. The troops deserve to have someone who will fight rather than surrender. The troops deserve someone who will not send them as pizza delivery guys to every third world nation. And the American people deserve someone who wants to KILL terrorists rather than talking to them.

Excellent post, Miss Marple, and nice to see you. I'm surprised no one has replied to your message, so I will.

Well said, and I agree.

We can guide McCain? Has that every happened during his time in the Senate?

I’d rather a Newt Gingrich like House leader blocking the bills of a Dem president than a liberal like McCain with a liberal congress as it is now.

Uh.... Yeah, I just can't wait to get screwed over by someone from my own party. And when that happens, I'll be a Republican no more.

Nope.

The time has come for conservatives to say “enough is enough” in a way that the GOP cannot possibly misunderstand. A vote for McCain is a vote for the continuing leftist incrementalism that got us where we are now, and it’s obvious that nothing short of a drastic message will reach the GOP.

Almost everything about this country today is FAR more liberal than it was in 1988, which is when the GOP’s slide to the left began. Enough is enough.

The EASY thing to do is vote for McCain. It’s also the equivalent of a finger in the dike.

On the timing issue, I hear you. There’s an important war on terror, etc. etc. Valid issue, but reality is that there is NEVER going to be a good time to take action that may well put a Democrat in the White House. It is, however, a necessary action.

"This plain declaration of mine will probably draw fire."

You think you're due for a roasting because you are willing to buy the party line? In the end, you're the majority even in FR.

BoT admits to being a libertarian, you expect to be picked on, you are both entitled to your conceits.

For my part, I'm simply disgusted with this campaign (both sides) and seriously wonder if I'll do anything at all. I'll probably vote straight "R" except for the presidential block, which will probably be a futile write-in.

But I really doubt it will matter because this thing is either already decided or due for a serious intra-party rebellion: I'm betting on the already decided part to come out on top.

It's gonna be Obama versus an old crock most of us hate - and we don't have numbers even approaching last election's 50/50 (+/-)...so instead of posing, put some thought into what to do after Obama wins.

McCain has made no effort to earn conservative votes, it’s obvious that he doesn’t really want our support. He seems to think that he can win without the conservative vote, either that or he thinks that we will put party above conservative principles.

Our level of unease with the presumptive nominee is striking. And Dems and their media familiars are thrilled. I imagine Howard Dean and the Kos Kids visit here daily to monitor the hostility toward McCain and consider ways to encourage it right through November. And you can bet your last dollar that the MSM will do everything in their power to keep the base unhappy, on the one hand, and to chip away at his appeal to moderates and independents on the other.

I am sympathetic to almost every anti-McCain argument I’ve read here; but then I think, hey, the nutroots, Reid and Pelosi, Matthews and Olbermann—they’re watching the infighting and they’re laughing and loving it. They think it’s their ticket to winning big in November. And I have a visceral reaction to doing anything that puts a smile on those people’s faces.

They want, they lust for, a Democrat in the Oval Ofice. That’s enough for me to say, I’ll do whatever unpleasant thing I have to (read voting for McCain) to keep that from happening.

Well then again there is the Bredesen factor. Bredesen is nothing near the tyrant Taxquist was. What am I saying then? Just this. The nation may be better off with a weak DEM in office than yet another {like Bush} Taxquist type of RINO who will split the party and do the DEMs dirty work for them. McCain will be a disaster not only for the GOP like Taxquist was but for the nation as well.

We need to forget the POTUS race this year as it is a loss and instead concentrate on booting as many RINO's as possible from both houses so maybe someone will actually stand against the DEM POTUS.

I will not vote for McCain. He takes Soros money, authored the CIR bill etc.

Now why would a conservative vote for this old man?

Blood of Tyrants, you are pissing against the wind here. If McCain is the nominee, I will vote for him, the alternative is not acceptable with me. You and I and a few others seem to be in the minority here and the McCain bashing continues unabated.

I agree with your conclusion.

It seems many conservatives have become more like the Libertarians, who most claim to despise, preferring to feel good good about their ideological purity, rather then accomplishing anything politically practical.
