Video: McCain at CPAC–not quite The Uniter yet (McCain Goons Pack Hall-Shout Over Boos!!!)

Video at Michelle's blog.

The sound on this video shows that the boos were much louder than the MSM's podium mikes picked up.

No wonder McCain didn't look to comfy on stage, even with his cheerleaders up in the front.

Direct link to You Tube page with video.

The CPAC crowd was fired up during Romney’s speech until, at the end, he broke his news, and things came crashing down. Then after a panel of senators and congressmen, and a speech by Dick Armey, the McCain ballet commenced.

1. It was an exercise in professional crowd control. Shortly before his speech, McCain staffers and volunteers were escorted in and seated throughout the room while conservatives were denied entrance.

2. Those attempting to save seats for family members, etc. were told that the people they were saving the seats for would not be getting into the room and that they had to let the other “guests” have the seats

3. The McCain crew shouted and cheered boisterously at all of the appropriate points, and gave dirty looks to any who booed. Still, lots of people booed.

4. McCain’s speech was undeniably a good speech. It did not change the fact that conservatives do not trust them, but it was a good speech, so it was difficult not to applaud with some points. (How can you boo all the time when someone quotes Edmund Burke twice?)

The total crowd was the usual CPAC packed room, probably about 5,000 strong in the room. Of them, possibly 10-20% were McCain supporters, but much of the rest of the crowd were simply polite, and seeing no viable conservative hope, gave McCain a moderate level of applause.

In the past, we have left CPAC energized. Today, we left for the day feeling like we had been punched in the gut.

Yep, he’s going to have to come a long way in ‘splaining himself. Good question—what DOES he mean by securing the borders? What happens after that? Amnesty for all?

I guess you haven’t read the articles where John MeCain and his campaign manager are responsible for nominating and getting Justice David Souter on the bench.

McCain is like a philandeering husband asking his cuckolded wife to forgive him.

Will conservatives forgive him as Hillary forgave Bill?

It would appear that the answer to your question is "Yes, they will." And our borders will still leak like a sieve, at the same time that our "conservative" hero McCain is waging a war on the Islamofascists in the ME. Hell, if McCain gets what he really wants, he'd even give the Islamofascists bent on killing us "a path to citizenship."

Even Tom DeLay talked about McCain bussing in about 1,000 supporters to make the audience look like they were supporting him. There were NO camera shots of the audience during McCain’s speech. NONE.

That’s right. Warren Rudman is a McCain advisor. Rudman is, in large part, responsible for Souter.

McCain has contempt for conservatives.

“Pro-life”

Voted to fund embryo research.

“pro-war”

Wants to close Club Gitmo.

“anti-spending”

Wants to create bureaucracies to legalize illegals, control Big Pharma, and fight the global warming.

“pro-conservative judges”

Feels Alito is too conservative and employs the man who pushed Souter’s nomination.

“and that’s not just a speech text, that’s his record.”

Indeed, his record of always working with the left against the right is incredibly clear.

I figure the begging for votes will start at about a week out from the election when Juan trails by 20 or 30 percent.

Yea, the begging part.

The demanding, cajoling, ridiculing, demonizing and general bashing of anyone not carrying a gallon of MxCain flavor kool-aid will continue from now until right about your one week prior to the election mark.

Heck, it has already started on this post!

“Maybe Conservative should throw their support to Obama.”

I am. We have a better chance at manipulating him than we ever would with McCain.

yeah... I heard one distinct “BAAAAOOOOOOOO”. Saw some people turning around to look at the person going “BAAAAOOOOOOO” and that’s about it...
Not sure this means much of anything.

but booing a man who comes to speak to your group is just childish and classless

So are standing ovations by bussed in, picked supporters, who aren't part of the intended group.

To all the McPain supporters, how can any of you describe you choice as a Conservative?

They will still be calling him a conservative as they line up to buy their "McCain-Daschle 08" bumper stickers.

Yeah, you guys are right. Everybody in the room was applauding, cheering, it was SRO and a standing ovation.

Maybe if you complained to YouTube, they will pull Michelle's video. You know, kind of like what the lefties do when they see a video on You Tube that they don't like.

Dream on.

I am not a party man by any stretch. I don’t view politics as a game of football, and I don’t wave a pennant with an “R” on it simply because they are my “home team”. I vote on ideology, and the CINOs here on FR see this as an abomination. Tough nuts to them. I don’t owe anyone anything, least of all a weak, morally ambiguous party my vote. Nuts to them, too.

That being said, if this angry little back-biting weasel is the best the GOP can do, may God help them. He is a disaster from the ground up.

No, it was IPAC. (Independants Political Action Conference) Large numbers of McCain volunteers filed into the room prior to his speech and distributed themselves among the crowd, ready to cheer loudly on cue. It was a hugely choreographed hijacking of CPAC by the same machine that brought us the amnesty initiative last year.

The basic fact is that sponsors are allowed to bring in large numbers of attendees. It’s the way that all conferences pay for themselves, so you just need to see it for what it is. The McCain campaign is a sponsor and brought in a large crowd with them. Romney had a large crowd as well; of course they dissipated right after his announcement.
