Romney has now bowed out of the race leaving only McCain, Paul and Huckabee. It's impossible the latter two have any chance of garnering enough delegates to win the nomination. That leaves McCain. He has slapped Conservatives in the face more than enough times by siding with Socialist Democrats on issues. It's clear McCain will take the GOP farther to the left. The question now becomes how many of you have had enough of the GOP abandoning Conservatism and will in turn leave the GOP?
How soon we forget.
You’re welcome! :)
I just printed a State of New Jersey Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form.
As there was no “Freeper” box to check, I will declare my “Unaffiliation” with any party.
The Republican Party has said, by word and deed, that they no longer want Conservatives in their party.
You say that like you are some kind of brainless housewife shopping for a new brand of ketchup.
The problem is not the party. The problem is the voters who vote for such lame candidates. Good candidates were out there this election cycle and they lost.
The only way to affect change is to change the minds of the voters. Running away from the voters -- and that's what you do when you go off to some circle-jerk party -- won't get you anywhere except maybe more bad -- ketchup.
Lost souls.
Anyway, I drank the Koolaide during the last election. I even sounded just like you. You know what they say....."Fool me once...shame on you. Fool me twice..."
whatever happens, I've decided pretty much to vote McCain.....even though he hates me.....I will donate to Pub candidates and put their sign on my yard....
its tough fighting the evil RAts....but somebody's got to do it...
You must feel so good about yourself.
Not sure what state you are in, but if you dropped your Republican registration and became an independent, in most states that would be one less vote for a good conservative Republican and one less vote against Amnesty McCain.
And what we have now is Amnesty McCain.
I haven't posted here in a good long while, so I guess I'm due for a good long post. I've got alot to get off my chest lately.
I left in 1991 after "read my lips, no new taxes" became yet another Republican broken promise.
I'm as fiscal of a Conservative as one can be, and as socially Conservative as one can be as well. Staunch Pro-Second amendment, anti-abortion, I want smaller, less intrusive government and tax cuts and more tax cuts.
I believe the War on Terror must be won, and that the War on Terror includes protecting and defending our borders from illegal immigration. It also means that we as American's don't surrender our freedoms for a little safety. Ben Franklin had it exactly right: Those who would surrender precious liberty in exchange for a bit of temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety
I think our Government spends way too much, does too many things that it shouldn't do (Dept. of Education for example, Welfare, and all it's re-distribution of wealth schemes such as Social Security) and infringes on each of our rights daily.
I believe these are good, solid Conservative positions that the Republican Party has long since forgotten about in its desperate attempt to be a "big tent" party.
I used to believe that this country could change via the ballot box, but I've given up hope there. There's frankly a growing number of (stupid) people who can't do for themselves, and insist on the government providing for them. You wonder why this country is sliding towards socialism on a daily basis? Look no further than both the Democrats and Republicans for the reason why.
I no longer believe that peaceful change can happen via the ballot box in this country. I think the founding fathers are probably spinning in their graves at what a bunch of apathetic, sorry-assed American's have let this country become. I personally think this country is long past a good old fashioned revolution, complete with tar, feathers and rope on the steps of the Capitol. The scumballs in Washington DC (and I mean BOTH parties here..) have long forgotten that they work for us. I believe they need a reminder.
Ben Franklin warned us when he said "Here's your Republic, now see if you can keep it." Franklin warned us to be weary of a government that would take away our rights and freedoms (and MONEY, btw.) The same government that has the power to GIVE you something, has the power to take it away first. (Stimulus package, anyone??) So many people have forgotten these important lessons. As for me, I'll never vote for a Democrat. To me, they represent everything that is fundamentally wrong with America. But that doesn't mean I'm going to vote Republican, or be happy about it if/when I do. The Republican Party has become the party of Big Government. A $3.1Trillion dollar budget proves that.
If the Republican party wants this Conservative's vote this year, they're going to have to adopt and ACT UPON Conservative values and principles.
Close the borders.
Enforce our Immigration laws.
Win the War on Terror. Call Islamic Fascism what it is.
Cut Taxes, enable Business Growth.
Make the Bush Tax Cuts PERMANENT.
Stop all Technology Transfers to China, recognize them as an Enemy of the United States.
Stop all foreign aid.
Get the U.S. out of the U.N.
Kick, the U.N. out of the U.S.
Bring our manufacturing jobs back, stop giving tax breaks to companies that export assembly lines & jobs. Incentivize them to bring jobs back home.
Appoint CONSERVATIVE judges to the Courts.
Overturn Roe v. Wade. It was a complete usurpation of States Rights, the USSC overstepped its authority.
Abolish the IRS
Declare Energy Independence. Drill ANWR and promote on-shore and off-shore drilling.
Support clean-burning Coal technologies and coal gassification.
At the same time, fully fund Alternative Energy - the new Manhattan Project.
If I were President, this would be my list Day #1. Now that Thompson, Hunter and Romney are out, there are no Conservatives in this race. The Republican party in my view has once again demonstrated it doesn't care for Conservatives vote. And once again, I feel vindicated for leaving in '91. The Republican Party cannot take my, or any other good Conservative's vote for granted any longer.
Actually Independent here is ‘non stated’. That means I can vote for whoever I want, plus I can write in whoever I want. And yes I do feel good about myself. The GOP can no longer take me for granted.
I left three years ago but had one elephant left in my brass collection. That elephant is getting dumped at the nearest thrift store. I will symbolically dump the GOP one final time. No elephants left in this house.
Romney was smarter than Bush and McCain and Huckabee PUT TOGETHER.
I would rather have principles than go along with group think. I’m out.
You can vote in a Republican primary?
At this point punishment is the only thing the GOP may ever relate to. I’m stoic about the future. I’m past the fear mongering. Fate is out of our hands and McCain is not guarantee if safety.
This certainly wasn’t a free election. There was voter fraud from coast to coast. Now the triangulation the GOP has been implementing is going to pay them back. I’m triangulating now and I’m saying, “no more, get lost to them.”
i DON’T consider McChurian enormously better than Shrillery.
And his anger and globalist support could make him almost as dangerous.
I just left the Democratic Party to join the GOP. I don’t think I’m going to jump ship again anytime soon. I can’t blame many conservatives for their disgust with the Republican Party and the liberal to moderate wing that forms the leadership of the party, but I don’t think the third party option is the right way to go. Conservatives have to take the GOP back from one state to another until the center left no longer controls the party.
They are drunk with power but void of concrete plans for our future.
I think John McCain is the Britney Spears of the Republican Party. He’s delusional but doin’ his thang anyway, surrounded by yes men.
