How Many Freepers Will Leave The GOP?
Man50D

Posted on 02/07/2008 10:39:44 AM PST by Man50D

Romney has now bowed out of the race leaving only McCain, Paul and Huckabee. It's impossible the latter two have any chance of garnering enough delegates to win the nomination. That leaves McCain. He has slapped Conservatives in the face more than enough times by siding with Socialist Democrats on issues. It's clear McCain will take the GOP farther to the left. The question now becomes how many of you have had enough of the GOP abandoning Conservatism and will in turn leave the GOP?

Had the nominee been Rudy, I'd be headed for the door. I may have been convinced to stick it out with Romney.

I'll hold my nose for McCain and hang in, assuming he doesn't pick a horrible running mate.

I’ll vote McCain over Hitlery or Obamination.

It’s a lesser of two evils thing.

Besides, McCain has said that he’s only in for one term. If he grabs Fred as his running mate I’ll be happy enough.

(If he grabs the Huckster as a running mate I might consider bolting)

Already posted this on the PA board last week. I am a Republican through April 22, so I can vote against McCain in the PA primary. On April 23, I will head to the local courthouse and change my affiliation to independent.

This November, I will be writing in John Galt for president and voting for and supporting any conservative candidates down ballot.

The Manchurian Candidate never gets my vote. Never.

Let’s retake the GOP! Starting with supporting conservatives for Congressmen and Senators! Resignation and surrender will ONLY ensure an eternal Democrat grip on power!

It is a long war, and this is a battle, you are right. Suppose McCain loses out to Hillary or Obama this year. Then conservatives will want to gear up and plan for the 2010 mid terms and 2012 presidential election. And if McCain wins, he’s getting old, he may not run for re-election in 2012.

The Clintons were criticized for running the permanent campaign, but maybe it’s a good idea. There will be events and candidates and issues to consider beyond whatever happens in this years election cycle.

Not much point in leaving until there’s somewhere useful to go.

But I haven’t given a dime to the RNC for many years, and I will not vote for McCain no matter how many lying promises he makes.

He is a born betrayer.

I registered Independent back in ‘99 when I turned 18, and only switched last year for the sole reason of wanting to vote for Hunter in the primary.

Now, though, since Louisiana is becoming a closed primary state for other state-wide elections, I currently have no choice but to remain Republican so I can participate in choosing the candidates from the git-go.

I vote for Huckabee is now an almost pure vote for a contested convention. Huck is unlikely, even if almost sweeps the next 20 some odd states, to collect the delegates needed to win. That said, he can collect enough delegates to block McCain . . .

The Republican Party without the Conservatism is no longer the Conservative Parry.

What makes you think the Huckster is a conservative? Huckabee is as nutty as McCain.
