How Many Freepers Will Leave The GOP?
Man50D

Posted on 02/07/2008 10:39:44 AM PST by Man50D

Romney has now bowed out of the race leaving only McCain, Paul and Huckabee. It's impossible the latter two have any chance of garnering enough delegates to win the nomination. That leaves McCain. He has slapped Conservatives in the face more than enough times by siding with Socialist Democrats on issues. It's clear McCain will take the GOP farther to the left. The question now becomes how many of you have had enough of the GOP abandoning Conservatism and will in turn leave the GOP?

I am not leaving. I am not a spoiled little kid who is going to take my ball and go home because I did not get my way.

You and others here sound like a typical leftist quitter. Have you been involved organizationally with your local or state GOP?

Did you personally work for either the campaigns of Hunter, Tancredo, or Thompson? If not, then quitcherbitchin’, saddle up, and get in there and fight the good fight. This is but one battle. Remember, we won in 1980, 1984, and 1994. If we Fight On, we will win again, but we have to fight smart, and the way to do that is from within the GOP.

Remember Fred’s message to us after his South Carolina defeat: “Always Stand Strong.”

In 2006, I moved between states, and registered as an Independent. I was a registered Republican.

I was an early leaver.

I will stay at least through the generals in November. How that vote goes may determine whether conservatives will have a voice in the GOP’s future.

I really don’t know what to do yet. My choices here in TX are- Bow down to McCain- Very distasteful, however, maybe the best choice for a president for this war, given the likely opponent, the beast or the obomanation. 2- vote in primary for the dim considered easier to beat (Hillary?) That elimanates me voting for any pubby in the primary, or any pubby runoff. or 3- vote a protest vote for Paul. (Distasteful even tho it’s meant as a F.U. vote against all of them.) I could almost support a vote for McCain/ John Bolton.

LOL I said that during the 2006 election and look what blind loyalty got us. A nightmare of a candidate.

If third political parties and Independent political runs for the Presidency really did have any serious political clout at the Presidential level, then NOW IS THE TIME TO HAVE IT! Apparently reality proves again that this is truly not the case.

I left over 8 years ago when they nominated that liberal gun-grabbing La Raza yankee from Kennebunkport.

You sir, sound more like the type to bend over and grab the ankles rather than do the more difficult and stand on principle.

Cute little attempt to disqualify me or others by questioning our "campaign" service. How very McNasty of you. I can not support one who flagrantly mocks my core beliefs and principles. McNasty will not get my vote, I will write in....

“Let’s retake the GOP! Starting with supporting conservatives for Congressmen and Senators! Resignation and surrender will ONLY ensure an eternal Democrat grip on power!”

Retake the GOP at the precinct level. It can be done, but it means working hard to win over your neighbors at caucus. If you work at the precinct level you can be elected to the other conventions where the candidates are chosen. This is a bottom-up, from the inside revolution.

I’m pretty much gone too. I may still vote for some Rs locally but I won’t vote for McCain.

In the primary, I’m crossing over and voting Obama.

First things first. 1. Ditch the Bitch. 2. See ya later, traitor.

Four years of Obama will be better for conservatives than four years of McCain or the Clintons.

Congressman Patrick McHenry of NC fits the bill nicely.

Not unless something better comes along. This is one battle in a long war.

That's the best way to look at this. Scattering the conservative vote to the four winds isn't going to do anyone any good.

Besides, there really isn't anything better. The Constitution Party are even bigger kooks than the Libertarians.

I am searching for a conservative politician to run in this election and hope that there may be one left outside the GOP, which is now run by the NORTHEAST LIBERALS.

I've never been a big party guy but I'm not going anywhere. I quit crying and taking my basketball home a long time ago when my Father read me the riot act about quitting.

Like always, I'll send money to the most conservative guys I can find who can get elected down ticket.

[Where will you all go?]

Looking for a conservative party now. It is time for a NEW CONSERVATIVE PARTY, use the old party conservative principles but NEVER, NEVER allow liberals or moderates in the party, CONSERVATIVES ONLY. Nor allow crossover voting.

I like him, too. With Sue Myrick retiring, he’ll be the only really solid conservative left in the NC delegation.
