How Many Freepers Will Leave The GOP?
Man50D

Posted on 02/07/2008 10:39:44 AM PST by Man50D

Romney has now bowed out of the race leaving only McCain, Paul and Huckabee. It's impossible the latter two have any chance of garnering enough delegates to win the nomination. That leaves McCain. He has slapped Conservatives in the face more than enough times by siding with Socialist Democrats on issues. It's clear McCain will take the GOP farther to the left. The question now becomes how many of you have had enough of the GOP abandoning Conservatism and will in turn leave the GOP?

Wrong question. The right question is how many conservatives will be abandoned by the GOP?

I’m not sure I’m going to leave the party, but then again, I’m not sure which democrat to vote for, Hillary or Obama or McNuts. Tough choice, huh?

I am a conservative, but have not been a registered Republican for 2 decades. The GOP left the platform and stranded the conservative base years ago. John McCain believes conservatives will eventually come to support him, but I will not. This will be the first election I will not support the Republican POTUS candidate.

I will work to get true conservatives elected to the legislature in attempt to protect us from McCain, Clinton or Obama.

If McCain does not announce his intention to insist that Mitt Romney be his VP within the next ten days I am out. Not one penny, not one letter, not one word of support for the arrogant, spiteful and smug McCain. MItt fell on his sword today for McHero, he had better return the favor. My guess is that McStain’s pride will keep him from doing what’s RIGHT.

This November, I will be writing in John Galt for president and voting for and supporting any conservative candidates down ballot.

I too have written that I just might vote for John Galt. It would be hilarious to see a clueless on-air political reporter asking "Who is John Galt".

I'll never give another penny to the G.O.P.

These Country Club RINO's hijacked this party AND IT NO LONGER REPRESENTS ANYTHING LIKE CONSERVATIVISM.

Maybe Libertarian.

We'd welcome you with open arms. I finally realized the GOP left me about a year ago. I've been happily working with the LP ever since.

“Things started going down hill when GOP senators gave Slick Willie a pass during the impeachment process. “

Yes, and we have the final 3 candidate all out of that slimepit. Congress has a 20% approval rating and we get all our candidates out of there? That ought to tell us something.

Look at pissant’s post with a link to the newly forming FALCON party.

It would be great if freepers got together on this, and did it on the same day.

The next Ronald Reagon will restore the dream. Give it another 4 to 8 years.

I have the famous “I” as a voter. I always voted Republican. I will not vote for McCain, nor any democrat. I might write in someone, but I will not vote for McCain, or Huckabee.

The GOP lost me years ago, so the question of party affiliation is a moot point for me. I only change my registration when so required by primaries, then promptly change it back to “Decline to State, which is essentially Independents here in California.

I share your sentiments and will vote the same come November.

Seeing that SOB Mccain on stage with Lieberman and Goober Graham the other night sealed the deal with me. I may have voted for him if he picked a good solid conservative for VP— now it doesn’t matter. I will not vote for the turncoat.
