If the unfortunate possibility of a McCain nomination comes to pass, I will not work for his election to the presidency, nor will I defend him in ad hoc conversations. He is wholly unworthy for that high office, and it is intolerable for my conscience to abide supporting him.
I will face two options once in the voting booth: 1) cast my ballot for a third party candidate, or 2) simply not vote in the presidential election.
I am curious who among you share my sentiments.
Start now for 2012. As I said to Jan, our efforts need to be focused for productive results this time around. 2008 is logistically impossible this time around, especially to avoid the Perot Effect.
Unintended consequences and all....
My decision isn’t due to emotion, it’s due to strategic reasoning as I laid out earlier in the thread.
Heeeeyyyy! LOL
I WILL vote, So Question is option 1 or 2? 3rd party I guess since you didn’t offer a democrat option. McCain is not an option.
Dead either way.
It’s my fervent hope that the mere threat of conservatives sitting this one out will jolt the RNC into paying attention.
I pledge to vote for ANYBODY who runs against Hitlery. I would vote for Aleksander Putin over Hitlery if he had an “R” after his name.
Say it was Adolf Hitler or Satan running against McCain. You would still vote Flush-Vote-Toilet party and let Hitler or Satan become President. Because a vote for Hitlery is a vote for Satan. Believe it. No differnce?
Do you really think there will be NO difference between McCain’s and Hitlery’s supreme court nominees. Here SC appointments will make RBGinsberg look like Rush Limbaugh.
Anybody who refuses to support McCain against Hitley is a flaming idiot. Not that it matters. Hitlery would steal the election no matter how much McCain actually won by.
So on second thought, go ahead and write in Spiro Agnew. Who cares. Your vote won’t matter either way.
But I am STILL Voting for ANYBODY who versus Hitlery. I couldn’t live with myself if I did anything to even remotely help to put her in office. Anybody who does is a flat stupid idiot.
I think most peoples’ reasons are based in logic rather than emotion. We know McCain’s history, his voting record, his betrayals. Logically we cannot trust him. The fact that he’s kept doing this stuff has also made people hate him, but it is not an illogical hate. It is a hate that is deserved. But hate isn’t what was there first. People are against him for real logical reasons, the hate stems from the reasons, but it’s the logical reasons that force people to reject him.
I hope you are right. This one isn’t over yet though.
Good thread. Good Night.
Oh, you’ll vote for him. That I have no doubt.
“The voters have spoken and have again proved themselves to be idiots. You’re dreaming if you think you can re-educate sufficient numbers of them to get any meaningful future electoral victory.”
One thing I have learned,
The political pendulum is always swinging.
And I’ll be there pushing it to the right whenever I can.
“IT ISN’T AMNESTY!!! THERE’S A FINE!!! HEH HEH!!!”
Agreed. Presuming we simply don’t take over an existing party (like the Constitution party) and correct its platform, an infrastructure would need to be set up and public education of our existence and stances would need to be undertaken. None of that happens instantaneously.
By the way, your tag is one of my favorites.
Islam Delenda Est.
That is Job One. The presence of a Dem in the White House wil open the floodgates. And hey, if it’s (urp) McCain, if AQ thinks he’s a little crazy, that’s to our benefit.
I remember that either the Late Uday or the Late Qusay said of W: “This president is not like the last one.” And you know what he meant.
I’m not trying to start fights. I am trying to do what I can to ensure that we’ll have some semblance of a country for my son to grow up in. AQ and fiends are sitting back, licking their chops for us to lose our nerve. And allowing a Dem (AQ’s choice)in the White House, for whatever reason, would be seen in just that way.
That cannot happen.
Sleep well.
“McCain ain’t much but he’s better than anyone on the Left.”
McCain IS the left.
Whoever wins the Republican nomination will have my vote and it looks like that will be McCain. Better than Hill or Obama.
