A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Ever stop to think about all the animals that frequent the Finest? There are bears and birds, dogs and kitties, foxes, owls, wolves...! And Elephants everywhere! (No donkeys need apply though!) :)

Now the Finest isn't like just any zoo - our animals are very FRiendly - no fences or cages for them - in fact, this one may greet you at the door and insist upon a hug before you enter. (females only, of course.)

You may even find a bear in the kitchen cooking up some of her special brownies.

The Finest isn't all about animals and birds, of course - we have among us, to name just a few:

And we mustn't forget these Finest Animals and/or FRiends of Animals (and a Critter gift for each) - in no particular order:

A few little critters didn't get used, so if you have these letters in your name, please feel free to take them. I used "Comic Sans Ms" font in a size "6" to spell the rest of the names. Wish I knew someone whose name started with "Z" - love that zebra!

Have a Wonderful Warm and Fuzzy
Wednesday and Thursday!

Yes, PhotoFiltre is a really good program, especially considering it is free. I think it was ST.LOUIE1 who told me about it quite some time ago. I haven't done much with it, because I use photoshop, but it looks like it has most of the basic photo editing features that are available in programs that you would have to pay for.

I am glad it is working out well for both of you. :-)

Sorry to hear about your water/pipe problems. Our house is on a slab too and I have often wondered what happens when there are plumbing problems, how they would get to them. :-(

Sure hope your situation is easily resolved.

It's an Excellent Program, and I Use it All the Time to Compress Pics, so they will be Easier to Download for our FRiends on Dial-Up, and the Program Whips Up the Neatest Frames, too! I'm Planning to Roll Up my Sleeves and Try Some Harder Things on it Pretty Soon. Thank you for Letting me Know about it, because it's Invaluable to me.

Good Morning Lady Jag :)

We went for a walk and got back just as it started raining. It rained so hard last night it woke me up. Nice it washed my car off. ;)

Calling Myself

READ: Psalm 26

Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity. —Psalm 26:1

As I was moving my laptop, cell phone, and assorted books and papers from one room to another, the “regular” phone rang. I hurriedly set down my stuff and rushed to answer the call before the answering machine kicked in. “Hello,” I said. No reply. I said hello again when I heard rustling, but still no response. So I hung up and went back to my stuff on the floor. When I picked up my cell phone I realized that I had accidentally speed-dialed my home phone number!

I laughed at myself, but then wondered: How often are my prayers more like calling myself than calling on God?

For example, when I am falsely accused, I plead with God for vindication. I want my name cleared and the guilty person held accountable for the harm done to my reputation. But then I get impatient with God and try to vindicate myself. I may as well be praying to myself.

Vindication does not come from self-defensive arguments; it stems from integrity (Ps. 26:1). It requires that I allow God to examine my mind and heart (v.2) and that I walk in His truth (v.3). This, of course, requires patient waiting (25:21).

When we call on God, He will help us—but in His perfect time and in His perfect way.

I prayed: the answer long deferred
Brought not the thing I sought;
He answered better than my plea,
Yes, better than my thought.  —Anon.

The purpose of prayer is not to get what we want, but to become what God wants.

.My back isn’t bothering me this morning, Thank you!

I cannot figure out how to go to one picture and transfer it to photofiltre..I managed to double my bird pictures by downloading the whole file into PhotoFiltre and it replaced them in the wrong file(my error)...LOL... You cannot imagine how long it took just to delete half of them..I got around it by creating a “Photos to edit” file to click on.
This is one small step.
I use the desktop rarely nowadays..I find I can manage my tremor better (and definitely my back) by posting in bed.My tremor goes totally nuts only when I am doing certain motions or my arm is at certain positions...and some days are better than others.
Thanks again for the link..This old dog likes to learn new tricks...though I do it reluctantly at times.

;o)
