A Great Victory for pro Life and Liberty Conservatives!

The good news about this primary season is the pro abortion rights, pro gay rights, pro illegal alien rights, anti gun rights Rudy Giuliani was soundly rejected by the Republican primary voters!

Hurrah!

As Rudy was being actively promoted by the mass media and the liberal/moderate wing of the Republican party and for many months was billed as the so-called GOP "front runner," this was a great victory for the pro life and liberty conservative wing of the party!

Hurrah!

At least the previously {cough} pro abortion former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney was politically astute enough to realize that a pro abortion candidate cannot win the Republican nomination, so, wisely, some say cunningly, adjusted his core bedrock principles accordingly.

Thank God!

Vote as if your life depends upon it!

It does.

Vote to secure the Blessings of Life and Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity!

"Conservatives" didn't do what was necessary to make an allegedly "non-viable" conservative candidate "viable."

Continue the same path of defeatism via media manipulation, and we shall continue to end up with mediocrity in our nominees and ultimately more erosion of our rights and liberties.

I voted for Huckabee today in Tennessee. As for delegates, I voted for 8 state-wide Huckabee delegates, and 4 Thompson delegates. In the county, Huckabee did not have delegates in play, so I voted for two Thompson delegates and the uncommitted. I should preface this by saying I picked the delegates I knew to be most Conservative. It was funny that none of the names I was looking for were on Romney’s nor McCain’s list.

Taxes, size of government, foreign policy, defense, economy, immigration, etc... these are issues the president has power over and can influence directly.

You may be a newbie here and will get pummeled for saying anything good about Rudy, but I generally agree with you. Except for McCain being prolife, everything else about him is negative in my book. Rudy, aside from being bad on the social issues and immigration, was mostly o.k. for the others, especially the WOT. A bad choice either way between him and Juan McCain.

Sorry boss, but I just do not agree with you on Huck.

However, I did send in my check yesterday to FR.

Jim, no offense, but if that (Rudy dropping out) is the only thing that gets you excited ... then conservatives ARE worse off than was thought.

Many FReepers began the Stop Rudy effort around here back in the summer of 2006. It was a hard fought battle, but in the end, we helped knock Giuliani off.

We won, you lost Rudy!

I like Rudy Giuliani. He was my second choice behind Thompson. I admit I disagreed with him greatly on gun control (though as a positive he did support the lawsuit against Washington DC’s gun ban). I agreed with him on abortion and gay rights. I’m not so sure what the business about “pro illegal alien rights” is, though I’m in favor of deporting them all.

Giuliani did have a very good record on cutting taxes, cutting red tape, cutting crime and controlling spending. His results as an executive, while not perfect, easily trump those of the other Republicans with executive experience (Huckabee and Romney), while McCain, Paul and (unfortunately my favorite) Thompson have no executive experience at all.

Thank you, Jim. I really needed to hear that from you today - and now is the time to turn our eyes towards defeating the enemy. And NO, the ENEMY is not any of the candidates currently running for the Republican nomination...

The ENEMY are those who want to kill us and see us defeated - and they are rooting for the Democrats to win.

This I do know: no matter who wins the Republican nomination, the ENEMY will solidly back - with their money and their actions - the Democratic candidate. I, in turn, will do my best to defeat the ENEMY and their Democratic candidate.

Well, I’d even be more excited if RomneyMcHuck ALL drop out (or become hopelessly deadlocked at the convention) and we can draft a true conservative. One whose three legged stool stands firm, is not wobbly, doesn’t have one or more legs shortened or kicked out, and is not leaning or listing left.

Yep! It’s good news that the pro-abort attempted GOP coup got routed!

Yeah right! And what we are watching is the destruction of the republican party by the its liberal/taliban wing. Bush has brought the party to its knees and McCain/Huck will now deliver the death blow. This will guarantee that the democrats will control the WH (no matter who wins) and congress will be their play ground as McCain will not be able to help the down ticket races.

That’s great but I am disappointed with the GOP. I would have preferred better candidates. I’m not too thrilled with our choices.

And who would that be? McCain? Huckster? Romney? Not much of a choice really. I am pretty impressed that the conservative radio is voting for Romney which makes me wonder what we don’t know. Obviously he must be more conservative then what is portrayed.

This election shows that there are different kinds of conservatism, and they may not necessarily agree with each other.

shame a man who has been fighting conservatives since his loss in 2000 might be the nominee unless conservatives actually vote for the issues instead of it being based on religion or POW status.

McCain was helped by the dfeat of Rudy and Huckerbee has been helping McCain to destroy the party since the beginning of this election process.

Funny how issues are not mentioned much from the media etc

these next 4 years will be hell and I see nothing to be excited about

Mc Cain back in 2001 asked to switch parties, shame he never did in the end and he should have took Rudy with him

so many republican issues have been thrown out this election because of either not looking at issues and what they are saying,
because of religious bigotedness
because he’s a preacher

Hunter and Tancredo never had a chance because of the media an now Romeny never had a chance because of Mc Cain and huckerbee working together

either way illegals will be happy with all this as now we can expect millions of illegals to be staying here plus many more thinking they now can come here and stay here.

Still we will get what the majority will vote for, sadly in this case.

Yes one liberal out, two others soft on crime, terrorism, gitmo, borders, taxes, and the only ones who wanted against all this is out or just the one who is left in.

Sorry I am not that excited

I don’t see what’s to cheer about with Rudy being out. We’ve got Romney and Huckabee fighting for the anti-McCain vote (which is just the way McCain wants it), while McCain can be as liberal as he wants and still coast to the nomination.

I don’t know whether Huckabee has some sort of deal with McCain or not, but it’s certainly suspicious, especially with the WV events.
