Tonight they came up short against a team that had no business losing 6 games this year with the talent it possesses.

Make no mistake about the historic win here, but the Giants were hardly a "talented" team in comparison to previous Super Bowl champions. If you go back through the season and reviewed every game they played, you'd find yourself wondering how the hell they could have even made the playoffs, let alone won the Super Bowl.

Even most of their victories were ugly, and painful to watch -- including close wins over Miami, Buffalo, Washington, etc. Their passing game was pathetic, their linebackers average at best (with the exception of Pierce in the middle), their secondary porous and injury-prone.

This may be the worst team ever to win a Super Bowl. But then I've found myself saying that a lot over the last 10 years or so.

Yeah, you would’ve cleaned up, it would’ve paid off 9:2.

To put it all in perspective...

New York Giants and Cleveland Browns both had the same record of 10-6.

New York won the Super Bowl. Cleveland didn’t even make the playoffs.

While the Giant’s perfection was imperfect, the Pats have perfected their IMPERFECTION. Truly, they have reached the summit of all abysses.

I remember watching Brady on the nightly news give a wry response when he heard the prediction. Said something like ‘our offense is going to score 17 points?’

And now its immortallized on Youtube.

The irony of that final drive will give all the Patriot-bashers fuel for the entire offseason:

In Week One, the Pats got caught cheating...with videotape.

In the Super Bowl, the Pats could not challenge the non-sack call because there was less than 2 minutes remaining in regulation.

In Week One, the videotape was in their hands.

In the Super Bowl, the videotape was in the ref’s hands.

Props to the G-men for a great run.

Props to the Pats for winning 18 games.

Props to both for a game that wasn’t decided until the last 2 minutes.

THAT is a Super Bowl.

There is nothing better than seeing this Perfect team getting beaten in the Super Bowl ruining their Perfect season. Too funny. Poor Tom Brady getting his ass sacked multiple times. And it's so sad to see Belichik the Cheater mope around like a lost child-Not! I mock all you obnoxious Pats fans who wrote off the Giants early. I especially hope Troy Aikman is stewing today after his pathetic cheerleading for the Pats all night. Giants!

Then again, in the eyes of the bookies, the Patriots did win. Even odds were Giants by 12.

I am not a Giants fan. But, I rooted for the Giants. I am not a Pat’s fan. BUT, I HATE THEIR COACH. BILL BELLYACHE. I hate that arrogant, smart ass, whining, BS full of guy. He is a PUNK. HE is the reason I rooted for the Giants. Nothing else. HIM!

I'll take it one step further . . .

I'm not sure the Giants would have BEATEN the non-playoff Browns if they faced each other during the regular season.

I think you are referring to Pat Tillman’s widow. He was a Phoenix Cardinal’s player before his life was cut short in the war.

They have good WRs, RBs and TEs. Their running game averages over 4.6 yards per carry and had over 2,100 yards this year. Burress played on a bad ankle and still managed 12 TDs and over 1000 yards.

They have good defensive lineman.Strahan a HOF guy had 9 sacks, Tuck had 10 and Umenyiora had 13. This team overall sacked opposing QBs 53 times and had 61 tackles for a loss. They gave up less than 100 yards per game against the run. They might not have a great secondary but no team is strong at DB, LB and DL at the same time.

They have speed at LB and they get after the QB very well not to mention picking up receivers 15-20 yards downfield. Pierce was everywhere last night. Mitchel was a blitz machine.

Manning stood up under pressure and made plays last night and throughout the playoffs. Frankly he was one of the main reasons that they underperformed with his 20 INTs. If he had played at the level he did the past 5 games this team is 13-3/14-2 going into the playoffs.
