Reagan Library Republican Presidential Debate: January 30, 2008
SIMI VALLEY, California (CNN) -- Republican presidential hopefuls will face off Wednesday night without a familiar face as ex-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is expected to drop out and endorse front-runner Sen. John McCain.
The remaining candidates will take the stage in a debate -- sponsored by CNN, the Los Angeles Times and Politico -- beginning at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday.
The event at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, follows McCain's Tuesday night win in the Florida primary.
McCain topped former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 36 percent to 31 percent in the hotly contested race.
Giuliani placed third with 15 percent of the vote, followed closely by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 14 percent, and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas was fifth with 3 percent.
Giuliani is expected to end his White House bid and endorse McCain at a campaign event in California later Wednesday, Republican Party sources said.
Minus Giuliani, the debate will be a four-candidate affair -- McCain, Romney, Huckabee and Paul -- with CNN's Anderson Cooper moderating.

Reagan was no Reagan.
And I am a big fan of President Reagan.
Paul’s answer about not managing the economy is pretty good, except he says the gov. shouldn’t be fighting wars around the world. National security is the fed. gov.’s number one concern, not sponger programs.
Hey Huckabee, do you realize how many Mayors in this nation have governed something bigger than your state?
Huck bragging about being a governor for ten years.
3.0 million people in Arkansas—cities have more people than that.
What debate are you watching? Who wants a President who whines when he isn’t given enough attention?
Ron was good
He looks good tonight
So does Huck
Ecen McCains hair looks good
Your inane posts are about as bad as having to listen to Ron Paul in the debate....meaningless.
I’d take a drink every time Huckabee complained about being ignored, but I have to be up some time before noon tomorrow.
It’s not that- it’s that he USES it like...I hate to say this- but like John Kerry.
Humility is very appealing- if he had any- he’d not continue to remind us of his being a POW- and he’d get more credit for it.
Polls in January mean nothing.
Dukakis lead GHWB by 16 points in June. How’d that work out for him?
Geesh, Ron Paul is a freakin’ moonbat... hubby and I are on the floor laughing at his comments about the economy...
COMPLETELY!
Of course private sector baaad, government gooood
Romney doesn't get a government check like the others...
What a jerk McCain made of himself. Putting down Romney because in rehabilitating companies some people lost their jobs. really low class.
Here’s Hukcabee attempting to put up a good front that he is still viable so as to fool enough people that otherwise would switch to Romney.
What is wrong with you? Why would you think such a thing?
Or, are you just a bitter person, because John Mc What’s his name is not doing very well tonight?
Agreed again, you’re on target tonite, but he had no choice but to answer a rather good question from the Marxist moderators.
Nice, like a big stick of butter. Saved.
That's because he'd look good in anything. He is a fine looking man, I'll give him that.
